Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking an engineering professional to create and improve designs, processes and tooling to meet customer requirements and maximize product quality.

You will participate in adopting new technologies for efficiency, cost reduction and quality improvement. The role requires a degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science, with focus on manufacturability, product testing and analytical thinking.

Qualifications

  • Information Capture: identify, capture and document relevant business information in an auditable, organized way.
  • SOP: design, implement and evaluate SOPs to increase efficiency.
  • Analytical Thinking: determine root causes and propose solutions within business contexts.
  • Effective Communications: convey ideas clearly in writing and speech.
  • DFM: apply design for manufacturability guidelines to optimize products.
  • Engineering - MFG: apply manufacturing engineering concepts to design and process.
  • Product Testing: plan and execute testing to ensure product quality.
  • Troubleshooting: identify and resolve technical problems systematically.

Role Definition

Creates, implements and improves engineering designs, processes, techniques, tooling and machinery to meet customer requirements and maximize product quality.

  • Collaborating with all functional areas, (marketing, purchasing, manufacturing) to provide a design solution that meets the requirements of the customer and dealer network.
