Job summary

SOLIDAL is seeking a highly experienced Faade Engineer / Senior Faade Draftsperson to contribute to the ongoing development of our architectural faade systems. You will collaborate with design, engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams on live projects, developing shop drawings, detailing cladding systems and build-ups, and refining product performance.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on faade industry experience required.
• Excellent understanding of aluminium cladding, screening and subframing systems.
• Advanced CAD skills (AutoCAD, Revit/SolidWorks/Inventor) or similar 3D capability.
• Strong reading of architectural, structural and engineering documentation.
• Experience developing technical details from concept through to manufacture and installation.
• Ability to read and interpret complex faade drawings and specs.
• Excellent communication skills are essential for collaboration with architects and engineers.
• Willingness to propose improvements to existing details and processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop faade set-outs, shop drawings, production drawings and construction details.
• Design and detail cladding systems, subframes, brackets, rails, fixings and interfaces.
• Develop typical wall, soffit, ceiling, screen and other faade build-ups.
• Review architectural and structural docs and identify issues early.
• Collaborate with structural engineers to refine span tables, fixing requirements and system performance.
• Assist with ongoing development of SOLIDAL proprietary faade systems.
• Improve CAD/Revit libraries and technical documentation.
• Work with architects, faade consultants, builders and installers.
• Support design team with complex faade detailing and problem solving.
• Translate architectural concepts into buildable, manufacturable and commercially viable faade solutions.

Faade Engineer / Senior Faade Draftsperson

SOLIDAL | Architectural Faade Systems

SOLIDAL® is seeking a highly experienced Faade Engineer / Senior Faade Draftsperson to join our team and play a key role in the continued development of our proprietary architectural faade systems.

This is not simply a drafting role. We are looking for someone with strong technical knowledge of faade cladding, screening systems, subframing, fixings and build-ups, who can contribute to both live projects and the evolution of the SOLIDAL® product range.

The Role

You will work closely with our design, engineering, manufacturing and commercial teams across major architectural projects. Responsibilities will include:

• Developing faade set-outs, shop drawings, production drawings and construction details.
• Designing and detailing cladding systems, subframes, brackets, rails, fixings and interfaces.
• Developing typical wall, soffit, ceiling, screen and other faade build-ups.
• Reviewing architectural and structural documentation and identifying technical issues early.
• Working with structural engineers to develop and refine span tables, fixing requirements and system performance.
• Assisting with the ongoing development and engineering of SOLIDAL® proprietary faade systems.
• Improving standard details, CAD/Revit libraries, fabrication drawings and technical documentation.
• Working directly with architects, faade consultants, builders, installers and engineers.
• Supporting the design team with complex faade detailing and practical problem solving.
• Helping translate architectural concepts into buildable, manufacturable and commercially viable faade solutions.

About You

We are looking for someone with significant hands-on faade industry experience. You should have:

• Strong experience in architectural faade and cladding systems.
• Excellent understanding of aluminium cladding, screening and subframing systems.
• Advanced AutoCAD skills; Revit/SolidWorks/Inventor or similar 3D capability highly regarded.
• Strong understanding of fabrication, tolerances, fixings and installation methodology.
• Ability to read architectural, structural and engineering documentation.
• Experience developing technical details from concept through to manufacture and installation.
• Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills are essential. You must be comfortable discussing technical issues with architects, engineers, builders, installers and our internal team.
• Ability to challenge existing details and propose more efficient solutions rather than simply drafting what is provided.
