Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Facade Engineer located in Chennai. The Facade Engineer will be responsible for daily tasks associated with building envelope design, facade design, structural engineering, and building physics. Shall also support in promoting HiCAD to all the Facade companies in India and Abroad.

The Facade Engineer will be responsible for designing, analyzing, and detailing building facades and envelopes for projects that demand high structural and performance standards. Day-to-day tasks include developing facade concepts, preparing detailed engineering drawings, performing structural and building physics calculations, and coordinating with architecture, structural, and fabrication teams to ensure design intent is accurately realized. The role involves reviewing material specifications, assessing thermal and acoustic performance, and addressing durability, safety, and regulatory requirements for facade systems. The Facade Engineer will participate in design reviews, support fabrication and installation teams with technical guidance, and help optimize facade solutions for cost, constructability, and long-term performance. This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Chennai Area.

Qualifications

• Candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years experience.
• Candidates should possess strong skills in Facade Design and Facade engineering, including concept development and detailed system design.
• Candidates should possess solid understanding of Building Envelope performance, including weatherproofing, energy efficiency, and durability.
• Candidates should possess Structural Engineering skills relevant to facade systems, including analysis of loads, supports, and connections.
• Candidates should possess knowledge of Building Physics, including thermal behavior, solar control, acoustics, and condensation risk.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Proficiency in CAD/BIM and relevant structural or facade analysis software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, Rhino/Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Sketchup, and Revit is an advantage).
• Experience collaborating with architects, contractors, and fabrication teams on facade or building envelope projects.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and documentation quality.
• Ability to work on-site in the Greater Chennai Area and coordinate effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
