Job summary

Meinhardt Facade Technology, an international façade engineering consultancy, seeks a Civil/Structural Engineer to join its Chennai team. The candidate will contribute to façade and steel structural design, perform modelling and draft assistance, and coordinate with architects and consultants.

The role requires 3–5 years of experience, strong communication, and proficiency in AutoCAD and structural software. The company offers a global platform, with projects across multiple regions.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor of Civil Engineering with good academic records and Master’s Degree in Structures advantage, preferred
• AutoCAD, Staad Pro, Strand7 / Advance Steel (Modelling, Detailing, Checking) and other structural software analysis (optional)
• Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years’ experience
• Should possess good interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Understand façade and steel structural design concepts; model and assist drafting in StaadPro/Strand7
• Coordinate with architects and other consultants
• Prepare structural calculations with QA standards
• Perform design and analysis using governing codes and standards
• Represent the team in external meetings
• Review contractor shop drawings and calculations
• Attend construction inspections for concrete and steel structures
• Collaborate with Team Leader on technical matters

Meinhardt Facade Technology is an international Facade Engineering Consultancy with a strong presence in various regions including the UK, Middle East, N Asia, SE Asia, and Australia. With over 30 years of experience, Meinhardt has a dedicated team of 200 facade specialists across 14 offices. The company offers facade services along with specialized consultancy in Facade Engineering and BMU (Facade Access system).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• The Engineer should have basic understanding of Façade & Steel Structural Design and Arrangements and be hands on with structural analysis software like StaadPro / Strand 7 optional (will be trained) modelling and assisting drafting.
• Should possess basic knowledge of Façade Structural Steel Members and its Material standards.
• Undertake liaison and coordination with other designers, including architects, and other consultants
• Prepare the structural calculations within acceptable levels of quality assurance.
• Perform structural design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills and experience
• Represent the team/group/profession/discipline at external meetings
• Reviewing contractor shop drawings and calculations.
• Attending inspections during construction, installation and fabrication on concrete and steel structures.
• Work closely with the Team Leader or Project Leader on all technical matters relating to the projects;
