Job summary

Lektus Infrastructure is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer to provide fabrication design solutions for pre-fabricated tanks, skids, and piping. You will develop concepts, detailed designs, and tender documentation, while coordinating with CAD teams and other engineers to ensure fabrication drawings meet requirements.

The role requires strong analytical skills, leadership in large projects, and proficiency in Inventor AutoCAD Navisworks and BIM 360.

Responsibilities

• Provide design solutions related to fabrication for mechanical equipment like tanks, skids, and piping.
• Prepare concepts, preliminary and detailed designs with tender and contract documents.
• Draft fabrication drawings and details per job requirements.
• Guide CAD designers, drafters and other engineers technically.
• Demonstrate experience in sheet metal, weldments, piping and tanks design with GD&T.
• Apply value engineering and obtain client/PMC approvals.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Provide Design Solutions related to Fabrication for Mechanical Equipment, i.e., Pre-fabricated Tanks, Skids, Equipment.
• Prepare concepts, preliminary and detailed designs together with Tender and Contract Documents for equipment design and engineering
• Prepare Fabrication Drawings and Details as per the job requirements
• Provide Technical Guidance to CAD Designers, Drafters and other Engineers
• Experience in Sheet Metal, Weldments, Part Modelling and Pipig Design for Tanks, Vessels, Skids, Dosing Skids and the Piping.
• Proficiency in Mechanical Component/Concept Generation, 3D Modelling, Assembling, Manufacturing and Fabrication Drawings, GD&T, ECN/ECR
• Knowledge on Welding process and welding applications as well as various Manufacturing processes.
• Knowledge of sheet metal design, and modular/configurable medium to large assemblies.
• Knowledge/earlier experience of Sheet metal, Product design and Heavy engineering is an added advantage
• Initiate Value Engineering solutions and implement in consultation with other disciplines and get approval from client / PMC.

Preferred candidate profile

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex models and provide practical engineering solutions.
• Good knowledge of national, international, and local codes and standards.
• They should be adept at problem-solving and have a track record of implementing new technologies, techniques, or design methodologies to improve project system performance and efficiency.
• Implementation of quality procedures to ensure a good design deliverable.
• Comprehensive leadership skills and previous experience in managing large-scale projects.
• Good knowledge of MS office tools.
• Collaborative Skills with Clients, Stakeholders, Project Management and Design Teams.
• Good Spoken English and written English is essential.
• Experience is Middle Eastern and US projects are preferred.
