export merchandiser manages the entire order lifecycle from initial buyer communication and product costing to bulk production, quality compliance, and final shipment delivery.Job OverviewRole: Export MerchandiserPrimary Goal: Bridge the gap between international buyers and internal production teams to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.Key Focus: Costing, sampling, sourcing, production tracking, and export documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesBuyer Communication: Act as the main point of contact for international clients to handle inquiries, share updates, and manage expectations.Sampling & Approvals: Coordinate sample development, lab dips, strike-offs, and secure formal buyer sign-offs before bulk production.Costing & Pricing: Calculate raw material consumption, prepare cost sheets, and negotiate prices with buyers and vendors.Planning & Scheduling: Create and monitor Time & Action (T&A) calendars or critical paths for seamless order execution.Sourcing & Production Follow-Up: Coordinate with internal production, quality assurance, and external suppliers to track raw materials and manufacturing progress.Shipping & Documentation: Ensure precise preparation of export documentation and monitor logistics for timely global dispatch.Requirements & QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Textile Technology, Business Administration, or related fields.Experience: 2 to 6+ years of relevant experience working in an export house or apparel/trading environment.Skills: Strong negotiation, multi-tasking, communication, and technical knowledge of fabrics, garment construction, or product lines.
