Job summary

Alfa Laval is seeking an Import & Export Assistant on a 1 year contract in Pune. You will support financial functions and manage transportation bookings, documentation, and customs coordination to enable smooth global shipments.

The role requires 1–2 years in import-export, strong Excel skills, ERP familiarity, and effective communication. A Graduate Diploma in Foreign Trade is advantageous, with a chance to grow within a globally respected engineering company.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience in import-export, documentation, co-ordination and logistics.
• Strong Excel skills and familiarity with ERP systems.
• Graduate diploma in foreign trade is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Booking transport for standard orders and related documents.
• Coordinate import clearance, logistics and documentation.
• Prepare shipping documentation per country requirements.
• Process LC-related shipping documentation as needed.
• Track shipments according to Incoterms and follow up.
• Invoicing of standard orders and ad-hoc FCA bookings.

• We are looking for a proactive Import & Export Assistant who would be a key figure in supporting the financial function of a business.

About the Job

• Booking of transport of standard orders, documents, manuals etc.
• Import pick up customs clearance, co-ordinate for logistics and documentation.
• Execute correct shipping documentation in accordance with receiving country demand.
• Execute correct shipping documentation in accordance with Letter of Credit.
• Following up on shipments according to Incoterms
• Invoicing of standard orders
• Booking of FCA shipments ad-hoc (import and domestics)
• Approval of freight invoices and filing of documents

Who you are:

• 1-2 Years of Experience in Import-Export field including Documentation, co-ordination, logistics etc. good at excel, ERP understanding and using.
• Multitasking, fast learner and good communication both written and verbal.
• Minimum Graduate Diploma in Foreign trade will be added advantage.
