Job summary

Schneider Electric in Bengaluru seeks an Expert Data Scientist to lead AI solution development with a focus on Generative and agentic AI. You will design and deliver scalable, production‑oriented data products using Python and LangChain, collaborating with business teams to translate data into measurable business impact.

• Design, Implementation, Deliver, and Support AI solutions to be incorporated in products, systems and solutions.
• Build and deploy LLM-powered applications, including RAG pipelines, multi agentic AI Solutions, relying on the LangChain ecosystem, including tool-using agents, multi-agent orchestration, and memory-enabled systems.
• Ensure observability on genAI/agenticAI solutions and optimal trade-off between accuracy, latency, and cost.Build reusable frameworks, APIs, and components that accelerate AI adoption across the organisation.
• Lead code reviews and maintain high standards for coding, testing, and documentation.
• Define robust evaluation frameworks, including A/B testing, benchmarking, and offline/online performance metrics.

Job description

We are seeking an Expert Data Scientist with strong experience in AI solution development with a focus on Generative AI, / agentic AI systems.

Join us as a Senior Data Scientist and turn complex data into transformative business solutions. You'll lead the development of predictive models that drive strategic decisions and create measurable impact across the organization.

About the Role

You have a proven expertise in Data Science and Machine Learning, and in generative AI and agentic AI.

In this role, you will lead the design and delivery of scalable, production-ready solutions using a Python and LangChain-based stack, including LangSmith and LangGraph.

You will also work closely with business teams to uncover insights from data and translate them into measurable impact, with a strong commitment to Responsible AI and focus on observability and monitoring of the solutions.

Responsibilities

Solution Development

• Ensure reproducibility, traceability, and quality through disciplined engineering practices, including GitHub, and Markdown.

Quality and Observability

• Define robust evaluation frameworks, including A/B testing, benchmarking, and offline/online performance metrics.
• Establish scalable MLOps and LLMOps practices covering model lifecycle management, monitoring, governance, and deployment.
• Drive adoption of LangSmith for observability, tracing, experiment tracking, and prompt/version management.

Reserach and Innovation

• Stay current on advances in LLMs, agentic AI, and the broader AI landscape, and apply them to high-value enterprise use cases.
• Contribute to anticipation/upstream projects as well with technological & scientific watch, IP valorization (patents, publication)
• Promote a culture of experimentation, innovation, and responsible AI, with a focus on fairness, ethics, and trust.

Leadership and Stakeholder Management

• Technically lead a set of AI UC related to internal AI solutions development
• Contribute to the quarterly planning and load estimation
• Escalate the risks to the AI solution leadership team
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data scientists and ML engineers.
• Communicate complex AI and statistical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences through strong storytelling and visualisation.

Requirements and Skills

Education

• Master’s or PhD or exceptional candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and a strong track record will also be considered in Data Science or Computer Sciences.

Experience

• 8–12+ years in data science / AI roles, with demonstrated technical leadership and thought leadership.
• Proven track record of building and deploying production-grade AI systems — hands‑on production deployment experience is essential.
• Experience bridging applied research and scalable implementation.

Technical Skills

• Strong programming expertise in Python. Hands-on experience with ML/AI frameworks: scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow, Hugging Face, Pandas, SparkML.
• Solid foundation in classical machine learning, including regression, classification, clustering, feature engineering, and dimensionality reduction.
• Experience in NLP, including text analytics, embeddings, and semantic search.

• Hands-on expertise in Generative AI, including LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, and fine-tuning, familiarity with vector databases and retrieval systems.

• Experience designing agentic AI systems, including LangChain agents, multi-agent workflows, and tool integration also running agent-based AI systems in production environments.

• Proficiency with the LangChain ecosystem, including LangSmith for tracing, evaluation, and observability.

• Experience of working in aws or azure cloud environment.
• Working knowledge of databases (SQL and NoSQL).
