A leading aerospace company is seeking an Experienced Equipment & Tool Engineer in Bangalore, India. The role focuses on designing and modifying tooling for aircraft manufacturing. Qualifications

  • Fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication skills.

Job description

We invite you to apply for the Experienced Equipment & Tool Engineer role at Boeing. Boeing is a leading global aerospace company that designs, manufactures, and services commercial airplanes, defense products, and space systems for customers in more than 150 countries.

Position Overview

The role will be based in Bangalore, India and focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial (BCA) business organization. You will work closely with Production Engineering teams to design, modify, and validate tooling for aircraft manufacturing.

Position Responsibilities
  • Design and modify assembly jigs, detail tooling, scaffoldings, work platforms, ground handling equipment, and other tooling.
  • Investigate design‑engineering changes to maintain configuration control and initiate appropriate action.
  • Act as Design & Drawing Checker/Reviewer.
  • Develop and maintain technical relationships with customers, suppliers, peers, partners, and team members to execute collaborative plans.
  • Coordinate and communicate regularly with Boeing experts worldwide; support initiatives on engineering excellence, employee development, mentoring, and customer engagement.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
  • Bachelor’s engineering degree or higher.
  • Experience designing and modifying production tools such as assembly jigs, drill jigs, location jigs, portable mechanical equipment, and work platforms.
  • Experience with conceptual tool designs and complex tool fabrication drawings (weldments, sub‑assembly, and assembly drawings).
  • Knowledge of tool manufacturing processes and aerospace industry specifications.
  • Strong understanding of safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with computer‑aided design tools (e.g., CAD/CAM, CATIA).
  • Ability to work with cross‑functional teams across multiple products and locations.
  • Self‑starter with a positive attitude, high ethics, and proven performance under pressure.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English with excellent communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired)
  • Familiarity with assembly processes, customer and supplier knowledge, design/produce processes, engineering process improvement methods, manufacturing methods, product structure, and operational analysis.
  • Experience with manufacturing tool disposition, tool strings, assembly instructions, tool order creation, tool liaison, and GD&T.
