Job summary

Navin Fluorine International seeks a seasoned Safety Professional in Surat, Gujarat, to manage MAH industry safety, issue critical permits, observe and correct unsafe conditions, and oversee on-site emergency planning and response.

The role entails plant safety audits, incident investigations, and ensuring compliance with OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 while coordinating with GPCB and Factory inspectors.

Qualifications

• B.E. Chemical (Mandate) with PDIS Dip in Industrial Safety / Dip in Industrial Environmental Tech & Mgt or govt.-recognized equivalent.
• 4-8 years of relevant experience.
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
• Superior interpersonal skills for coordination with all levels.
• Experience with OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.

Responsibilities

• Issue critical safety permits (hot work, vessel entry, etc.).
• Observe unsafe conditions and take corrective action.
• Prepare & execute on-site emergency plan and handle plant emergencies.
• Investigate accidents, near misses and drive root-cause analysis.
• Coordinate internal safety audits, risk assessments, HAZOP, JSA, HIRA.
• Train employees and contract workers in safety.
• Deal with government authorities (GPCB, Factory Inspector).
• Ensure compliance of safety & environmental statutory requirements.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. Should have knowledge of MAH industry.

2. Should be able to issue critical safety permit, such as hot work, vessel entry, etc.

3. Should be able to observe unsafe condition and able to take corrective action.

4. Should be able to prepare & execute on-site emergency plan.

5. Should be able to handle plant emergency.

6. Should be able to handle & investigate accident, dangerous occurrence, near miss and provide relative guidance to root cause analysis.

7. Should be able to fulfill the requirement of OHSAS 18001, ISO 9001 & ISO 14001.

8. Should be able to conduct/coordinate internal safety audit/inspection of plant and machinery, Risk Assessment, HAZOP study, JSA, HIRA.

9. Should be able to train company employee and contract workmen.

10. Should be able to deal with various govt. authorities, GPCB, Factory Inspector.

11. Compliance of all safety and environmental related statutory requirements.

12. Preparation of daily and monthly MIS.

13. Assist in ensuring consistency in the policies and practices implemented by company.

Functionally handle Fire Tender & train the Fire Squad.

Preferred candidate profile

1. B.E - Chemical (Mandate) with PDIS (Mandate) Dip. in Industrial Safety / Dip. In Industrial Environmental Tech. & Mgt. or equivalent qualification recognized by Govt. of Gujarat with minimum 4-8 years of experience.
