Job summary

Jindal Stainless Limited in Hisar, India is seeking a Maintenance Technician for shift-based maintenance of SAF, Ball Mill, Briquette Plant and related mechanical equipment.

You will handle preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, troubleshoot gearboxes, bearings and conveyors, and ensure safety compliance.， The role involves planning maintenance activities, managing shift manpower, and coordinating with stores for spare parts, with SAP-based record-keeping and ISO documentation

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical; 4-8 years preferred.
• Experience with mechanical equipment maintenance.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of gearboxes, bearings, shafts and conveyors.

Responsibilities

• Shift-wise preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of SAFFurnace, Crushing, Briquette Plant and related equipment.
• Maintain belt conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pulleys, rollers, couplings, shafts.
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and restore equipment to minimize downtime.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and planned shutdowns.
• Analyze recurring breakdowns, identify root causes, implement corrective actions.
• Manage shift maintenance manpower and shift handover.
• Monitor spare-parts inventory and coordinate with stores for availability.
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, shift reports and breakdown details in SAP.
• Ensure safety procedures, permits, and LOTO compliance; support ISO audits.
• Recommend improvements to enhance reliability and reduce maintenance costs.

Job Purpose

Shift wise handling of Maintenance at MetalRecovery Plant( SAF, Ball Mill & Briquette Plant)

Key Responsibilities

• Handle shift-wise preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of SAFFurnace, Crushing, Briquette Plant, and associated mechanical equipment.
• Perform maintenance of belt conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, pulleys, rollers,couplings, shafts, and other mechanical components.
• Troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns and ensure timely restoration of equipmentto minimize production downtime.
• Execute preventive maintenance schedules and planned shutdown maintenanceactivities.
• Analyse recurring breakdowns, identify rootcauses, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Manage shift-wise maintenance manpower and ensure proper job allocation andshift handover.
• Monitor mechanical spare-parts inventory, identify critical spares, andcoordinate with stores for timely availability.
• Maintain maintenance records, equipment history, shift reports, and breakdowndetails in SAP and other prescribed formats.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures, work permits, LOTO requirements
• Prepare and maintain maintenance-related documentation for ISO audits,
• Recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability, reduce maintenancecosts, and improve plant performance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical preferable& 4-8 Years
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment and maintenance practices.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of gearboxes, bearings, shafts, couplings, conveyors,and hydraulic systems.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, breakdown analysis, and shutdown planning.
• Basic computer skills and working knowledge of MS Office.
• Knowledge of MTTR, MTBF, RAC, CAPA, and ISOdocumentation.
• Knowledge of industrial safety practices andmaintenance work permits.
