Job Description:
Varun Beverages Ltd. seeks a technically competent Executive - Quality (Line Chemist) for its Pathankot plant. The role involves monitoring product and process quality, performing laboratory and on-line tests, ensuring adherence to GMP, GHP, HACCP and other food safety standards, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the production line.
Responsibilities
- Conduct in-process and finished product quality checks according to SOPs and specifications.
- Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses on samples collected from the production line.
- Monitor critical quality parameters at various stages of manufacturing and record results.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, test reports, and quality documentation.
- Identify quality deviations and coordinate corrective actions with Production and other departments.
- Support investigations of non-conformities, quality issues, and process deviations.
- Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and cleanliness of laboratory equipment.
- Assist in internal, customer, and external audits as required.
- Maintain housekeeping and safety standards in the laboratory and production areas.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects and suggest process enhancements.
Qualifications
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Food Chemistry, or a related discipline.
- 1-4 years of experience in Quality Control/Assurance or Line Quality, preferably in FMCG or Food & Beverage.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, GHP, HACCP and food safety regulations.
- Proficiency in chemical analysis techniques and laboratory practices.
- Ability to interpret and follow SOPs and maintain documentation compliance.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills for handling quality deviations.
- Familiarity with MS Office for reporting and data analysis.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
- Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge may also be considered.
