Job summary

PTC India in Kandla (Gujarat) seeks an Executive (Metering) on a contractual basis to supervise meter management, reading operations, surveys and energy accounting, with emphasis on smart metering initiatives and data validation for accurate billing.

The role requires 2–3 years of relevant experience and an electrical engineering degree (BE/BTech). The incumbent will handle testing, calibration, documentation and customer services related to disconnections or load extensions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in Electrical required (BE/BTech/B.E.).

Responsibilities

• Meter management: supervise installation, testing, calibration and maintenance of meters.
• Meter reading operations: coordinate monthly reading activities for accurate billing.
• Meter survey & verification: verify consumer details, connected load, meter status and metering infrastructure.
• Energy audit support: assist in energy accounting and loss assessment activities.
• Smart metering initiatives: support implementation and verification of Smart/Prepaid metering projects.
• Testing & calibration: ensure periodic testing as per standards and guidelines.
• Data validation: review meter data for abnormalities and patterns.
• Consumer services: support disconnection/reconnection, meter replacement and load extension.
• Documentation & reporting: maintain meter inventory, testing records and monthly MIS reports.

Role & responsibilities

• 1) Meter Management: Supervise installation, replacement, testing, calibration and maintenance of consumer and feeder meters.
• 2) Meter Reading Operations: Coordinate monthly meter reading activities and ensure timely availability of accurate data for billing.
• 3) Meter Survey & Verification: Conduct periodic surveys to verify consumer details, connected load, meter status and metering infrastructure.
• 4) Energy Audit Support: Assist in feeder-wise, DT-wise and consumer-wise energy accounting and loss assessment activities.
• 5) Smart Metering Initiatives: Support implementation, monitoring and verification of Smart Metering and Prepaid Metering projects.
• 6) Testing & Calibration: Ensure periodic testing and calibration of meters as per applicable standards and regulatory guidelines.
• 7) Data Validation: Review meter data for abnormalities, consumption patterns and possible meter-related issues.
• 8) Consumer Services: Support disconnection/reconnection, meter replacement and load extension activities.
• 9) Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meter inventory, testing records, meter replacement data and monthly MIS reports.
