Job summary

CSB Bank seeks an experienced banking lawyer to advise the Credit Underwriting Team on mortgage viability and to draft and vet loan and security documents. The role covers scrutinizing commercial legal matters, contract drafting, and due diligence to support Alliance Business negotiations and policy drafting.

You will ensure regulatory, internal and contractual compliance, identify risks, liaise with lawyers, handle death claim cases, and oversee recoveries in retail.

Responsibilities

• Provide opinion to the Credit Underwriting Team / Management on mortgage viability of land/property and nature of mortgage to secure lending.
• Draft and vet loan agreements, escrow agreements, mortgage, security creation documents.
• Scrutinize, inspect and guide in all commercial legal matters and documents
• Drafting, Vetting of documents as per business needs/terms
• Provide support on Alliance Business negotiations, strategy, term sheets, contractual agreements, policy drafts and due diligence
• Ensure compliance of the group to regulatory, internal and contractual requirements
• Identify & mitigate potential Legal, Compliance or Business Risks
• Monitor controls & related documentation for risk management procedures
• Liaise with lawyers to monitor cases against Bank and ensure successful conduct
• Provide legal opinion/decision on all legal aspects in assets and liabilities business of the Bank
• Handle death claim cases
• Monitor legal and regulatory compliance across various bank businesses
• Draft criminal complaints and liaise with police authorities
• Initiating and monitoring recovery measures in retail.

Responsibilities

• Providing opinion to the Credit Underwriting Team / Management on the mortgage ability of the land / property in question and the nature of mortgage to be created to secure the proposed lending
• Experience of drafting of loan agreements, Escrow agreements, mortgage, security creation documents etc.
• Proficiency in scrutinizing, inspecting and guiding in all commercial legal matters and documents
• Drafting, Vetting of the documents as per the Business Needs/Terms and condition
• Provide support on Alliance Business related Negotiations, Strategy, Term Sheets, Contractual agreements, Policy drafts and due diligence
• Ensure compliance of the group to all Regulatory, Internal and Contractual requirements
