Job summary

Pinnacle People Co. is seeking an Executive Housekeeper for a Mumbai luxury hotel with Oberoi Hotels background preferred. You will lead all housekeeping operations to uphold exceptional cleanliness, guest comfort, and brand standards.

You will manage guest rooms, public areas, laundry, linen, pest control, and housekeeping administration while driving cost efficiency, staff development, and service excellence in a five-star environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree or Diploma in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management.
  • 12–18 years of progressive housekeeping experience in luxury hotels.
  • 4–5 years as Executive Housekeeper or Assistant Executive Housekeeper in a five-star luxury hotel.
  • Experience with international luxury hotel brands preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the complete Housekeeping function to luxury brand standards.
  • Establish and maintain quality control and inspection processes.
  • Oversee guestrooms, public areas, laundry, linen, pest control, and administration.
  • Drive SOPs improvements and maintain high cleanliness scores.
  • Coordinate with Front Office to prioritize VIPs and arrivals.
  • Develop initiatives to enhance guest comfort and service.

Position Overview

The Executive Housekeeper is responsible for leading all Housekeeping operations to ensure exceptional standards of cleanliness, hygiene, presentation, and guest comfort throughout the hotel. The role demands strong operational leadership, attention to detail, financial acumen, and the ability to develop high-performing teams while maintaining the brand's luxury standards. The incumbent will oversee guestrooms, public areas, laundry operations, linen management, floral coordination (where applicable), pest control, and housekeeping administration, ensuring an impeccable guest experience and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
  • Lead the complete Housekeeping function, ensuring all guest rooms, suites, public areas, back-of-house areas, offices, and recreational facilities meet luxury brand standards.
  • Establish and maintain stringent quality control and inspection processes.
  • Conduct daily inspections of guestrooms, VIP rooms, public areas, banquet facilities, restaurants, spa, gym, and employee facilities.
  • Ensure all VIP arrivals receive personalized attention and flawless room presentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement in housekeeping SOPs and service standards.
  • Maintain exceptional cleanliness scores across internal audits and guest satisfaction surveys.
Guest Experience
  • Ensure every guest room reflects impeccable cleanliness, functionality, fragrance, and aesthetic presentation.
  • Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping promptly and professionally.
  • Work closely with Front Office to prioritize arrivals, departures, VIPs, and special requests.
  • Coordinate with Engineering for immediate rectification of maintenance defects affecting guest experience.
  • Develop initiatives that enhance guest comfort and elevate luxury service delivery.
Team Leadership
  • Lead, motivate, coach, and develop Assistant Housekeepers, Floor Supervisors, Public Area Supervisors, Laundry Managers, and Room Attendants.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, coaching sessions, and succession planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and service excellence.
  • Ensure manpower planning aligns with occupancy levels and business requirements.
  • Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Financial Management
  • Prepare and manage the departmental operating budget.
  • Control payroll, linen costs, guest supplies, cleaning chemicals, uniforms, and equipment expenses.
  • Optimize productivity without compromising luxury standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels and minimize wastage through effective controls.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives while maintaining guest satisfaction.
Laundry & Linen Management
  • Oversee all laundry operations, including guest laundry, staff uniforms, and hotel linen.
  • Maintain par stock levels for linen, uniforms, and guest amenities.
  • Ensure proper lifecycle management of linen through effective inventory systems.
  • Monitor laundry quality, productivity, and vendor performance where outsourced.
Hygiene, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure compliance with all hygiene, sanitation, fire safety, and occupational health standards.
  • Maintain housekeeping compliance with HACCP, FSSAI (where applicable), local municipal regulations, and brand standards.
  • Lead pest control and deep cleaning programmes.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of chemicals in line with safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate departmental records and documentation.
Asset Management
  • Maintain guest room furniture, fixtures, furnishings, carpets, upholstery, curtains, and decorative items in excellent condition.
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance programmes with Engineering.
  • Ensure effective inventory management of housekeeping equipment and operating supplies.
  • Conduct periodic asset verification.
Sustainability
  • Drive environmentally responsible housekeeping practices.
  • Implement water conservation, energy-saving, and waste segregation initiatives.
  • Reduce chemical consumption through efficient usage practices.
  • Support ESG and sustainability goals of the hotel.
