Role Descriptor

DHL Express is looking for an Executive for Corporate Communications to join and lead our team. He/she will be responsible for supporting Corporate Communication team activities for the country. The Corporate Communications team is responsible for ensuring the replication and delivery – as much as is practical – of APCC’s core 6-pillar approach to Corporate Communications and Sustainability. These six pillars include Media Relations, PR, Events & Sponsorship, Internal Communications, First Choice Communications, Corporate Sustainability and Trade & Government Relations.

·Other relevant dimension: Works collaboratively with the corporate communications team from other DHL BUs, and closely with marketing teams to drive synergy with product-related communication and PR plans.

Key Responsibilities

He/she will have to perform the following key activities:

·Senior Management Team:

oSupport the Corporate Communication team to develop content and messages for Country Manager/ SMT speaking engagements and any public-facing meeting or speaking opportunities.

oAssist in crafting key messages, talking points, Q & A’s and pre-interview briefings.

·Internal Communication:

• Support internal communication efforts of the department to employees on developments in country / region and globally.
• Support the department to develop specific campaigns and platforms for communication to heighten pitch of key themes amongst the employees.

·Global / Regional Senior Executive (Visits):

oProvide on-ground support for senior executive visits, particularly visits by Regional CEOs.

·Media Relations:

oSupport the Corp Comm team in media interactions / press briefings across the market.

oSupport the corp comm team in facilitating local media inquiries and requests by drafting messages that meet the objectives of the communication goals.

·PR Agency:

oSupport team and be a contact for local PR agency relationship.

·Country Communications Teams:

• Assist in media-related reporting to the regional team.

oProvide support and local assistance / extension to regional office (APCC) initiatives.

·External Communications:

• Speaking opportunities, through leadership symposiums, networking events etc.

·Messaging Dissemination:

• Draft media releases and assist in local roll out.

·People First:

oWork closely on ground with local teams on building and editing content for local magazine.

·Web Support:

oWork on update of country pages on My net.

·Staff Presentation Support:

• Streamline and tailor messages for external parties. Possess good PowerPoint skills and create compelling presentations.

Skills Required

·Proficiency in written and spoken English, fluency in local language mandatory.

·Experience with and knowledge of local media.

·Previous media relations experience in corporate communications and/or PR agencies needed.

·Sound knowledge in office software and applications: including basic desktop publishing skills.

·Solid analytical skills.

·Strong relationship builder.

·Possess appreciation of a multi-cultural environment.

·Knowledge or demonstrated interest in Express and Logistics industry.

·Possess the ability to communicate with people at all levels – and across many regions.

·Excellent presentation / speaking skills.

Profile Requirements

·Minimum of 4-5 years of experience directly related to public relations and corporate communications management – either with an agency or MNC environment.

·Ideal candidate will have independently led a team of communications professionals and have a strong track record successfully managing both internal and external clients.

·A first degree with background in mass communications, journalism, English/ Literature or sciences.

·Advanced degree (e.g. Master) preferred.
