Job summary

Valuecent Consultancy in Gurgaon seeks a driven auditor to join our International Audit & Assurance team. You will apply your foundation in accounting, auditing and financial reporting to plan, execute and document audits for international and group engagements.

You will work with overseas teams, develop understanding of IFRS/US GAAP, and deliver high-quality audit evidence, working across time zones with professional skepticism and precise documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting.
• Good understanding of audit methodology, planning, risk assessment, materiality and procedures.
• Ability to understand engagement-specific audit instructions, scope, risks and deliverables.
• Knowledge of substantive testing, test of details, analytical procedures, audit sampling, confirmations and reconciliations.
• Ability to obtain, evaluate and document audit evidence.
• Willingness to work on international and group audit engagements with overseas teams.

Responsibilities

Job description

Role & responsibilities

1. International Audit & Assurance

• Strong foundation in Accounting, Auditing and Financial Reporting, with a keen interest in building a career in International Audit & Assurance.
• Good understanding of audit methodology, audit planning, risk assessment, materiality and audit procedures.
• Ability to understand engagement-specific audit instructions, scope, risks and deliverables and effectively execute assigned audit procedures.
• Good understanding of substantive testing, test of details, analytical procedures, audit sampling, confirmations and reconciliations.
• Ability to obtain, evaluate and appropriately document sufficient and appropriate audit evidence.
• Willingness to work on international and group audit engagements and collaborate with overseas engagement teams.

2. Financial Reporting & Accounting Standards

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
• Good knowledge of Ind AS / Indian GAAP, with a strong willingness to develop knowledge of IFRS, US GAAP, UK GAAP, Dutch GAAP and other international reporting frameworks.
• Ability to understand accounting treatments and identify transactions or matters requiring further evaluation.
• Ability to assist in the preparation of financial statements, disclosures, lead schedules and supporting reconciliations.
• Willingness to research and develop an understanding of accounting and reporting requirements applicable to international clients.

3. Audit Quality & Professional Judgment

• Strong commitment to audit quality, accuracy, professional standards and timely delivery.
• Demonstrate professional skepticism when evaluating audit evidence and management explanations.

4. Audit Documentation

5. International Client Communication

6. Technology & Data Skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Office and PowerPoint.
• Ability to analyse financial data and work efficiently with audit schedules and large volumes of information.
• Good working knowledge of Excel for data analysis, reconciliations and audit testing.
• Exposure to CaseWare or other audit documentation / engagement management tools will be an advantage.
• Willingness to adopt audit technology, data analytics and automation tools to improve audit efficiency and quality.

• Ability to work effectively within a multi-level and geographically dispersed audit team.
