Coats Group plc is seeking an Executive - Manufacturing at Ambasamudram to lead on-the-job training, safety alignment, and quality systems across wet processing and finishing operations. The role focuses on building a proficient training culture, ensuring new hires are fully prepared within six weeks, and driving safety and SOP adherence.

The incumbent will design training materials, conduct tests, and collaborate with department managers to evaluate trainee performance and improve processes.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in wet processing, dyeing, finishing.
• Strong planning and management skills to meet objectives.
• Ability to train new employees and conduct safety/SOP tests.
• Proven teamwork and ability to influence others.
• Excellent two-way communication across the organization.

Job Purpose: The purpose of having this position is to provide well proficient training culture on job safety, part Analysis training (Specific to job) and quality system requirements to all new employees recruits in all Dyehouse and Finishing operations. This training will help manufacturing to meet the output on time with good safety and quality. To train all the new employees as per the standard operating procedure and ensure to make them completely fit for the job in 6 weeks' time.

Key Result Areas:

• Recruit the new male, female, contract employees based on the job requirement.


• Support to designing the training manual based on the needs of the organisation.


• Conducting one day orientation training program for all employees.


• Conduct a written test to check knowledge of safety and SOP. If the employee scores less than 100 marks in either Safety or SOP, retrain all basic lessons and conduct the test again.


• Monitor and review employee performance through evaluations and discussions with managers.


• Promote and maintain discipline and order in the workplace, monitor and control Absenteeism.


• Maintain good and friendly relations in the workplace.


• Promote effective communication within all sections.


• Develop, maintain, and monitor safe work practices in all wet processing and finishing areas, in line with health and safety regulations.


• Motivate employees to provide valuable suggestions for quality, productivity, and safety.


• Evaluate employee work performance and complete the Performance Appraisal (PAT) form.


• After completing the training, review the trainee’s performance with the Department Manager, IE Manager, and HR Manager for final evaluation.


• Provide multi-training classes for all categories of employees, so that can be deployed accordingly.


• Identify poor performers in quality and production and provide refresher training as advised by the respective department heads.


• Observe and monitor behaviour-based safety practices among employees on the shop floor.


• Organizing Training and development centre.


• Coordinate with new visitors for plant tours.


• Monitor housekeeping in the Experience Center, Pilot Mill areas, and Training Hall.


• Organize employees for blood tests and doctor reviews


• Coordinate daily with shop floor executives on employee safety and quality issues and create awareness when needed.


• Provide counselling on van-related issues such as route changes, hygiene, and general matters.


• Coordinate with shop floor executives to reduce SDR and customer complaints.

Knowledge, Competencies and Key Behaviours Required:

• Knowledge about wet processing operation Bleaching, Dyeing, Finishing.


• Min 5 years' experience in related fields


• Good planner & should have the management skills to meet the objectives


• Has to exhibit teamwork and to influence others to bring positive impact


• Should have two-way communication throughout the organisation


• Ability to maintain good rapport with colleagues


• Have the talent to demonstrate the results.
