Location: Delhi Warehouse
Reporting To: Quality Manager / Head – Quality
Experience: 3–7 Years
Qualification: Diploma / Graduate; Engineering or Quality-related qualification preferred
1. Job Purpose
The Quality Executive will be responsible for ensuring end-to-end quality control at the Delhi Warehouse. The role will primarily focus on Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI), return product inspection and segregation, customer complaint investigation, reduction of product returns and bad inventory, and continuous quality improvement .
The individual will act as the primary Quality representative at the warehouse and work closely with Warehouse, SCM, Sales, Customer Service, Factory, and Quality teams to ensure that only quality-approved products are dispatched to customers.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI)
- Conduct 100% Pre-Dispatch Inspection (PDI) of sofas and mattresses before dispatch from the Delhi warehouse.
- Inspect products for:
- Appearance and finishing
- Dimensions and construction
- Stitching and upholstery
- Packing and packaging condition
- Labels and MRP
- Product specifications and details
- Other applicable quality parameters
- Ensure all products comply with defined company quality standards and SOPs before dispatch.
- Identify, hold, and segregate defective products before they reach customers.
- Maintain accurate PDI records and inspection status in Google Sheets / Microsoft Excel .
- Immediately escape recurring or critical defects to the Quality and concerned functional teams.
- Ensure no product is dispatched without the required quality approval.
- Inspect all returned mattresses, sofas, and accessories received at the Delhi warehouse.
- Assess the physical condition, defect, usage, and repairability of returned products.
- Categorize returned products as:
- Reworkable: Products that can be restored to saleable condition through approved rework.
- Non-Reworkable: Products that cannot be economically or technically restored and should be classified as bad inventory.
- Ensure proper physical segregation, tagging, and identification of reworkable and non-reworkable products.
- Maintain complete return inspection records, including:
- Return reason
- Defect type
- Product condition
- Root cause, wherever identifiable
- Rework requirement
- Final disposition
- Coordinate with relevant teams for timely rework, release, disposal, or closure of returned inventory.
- Monitor rework quality before products are released back to saleable inventory.
- Visit customer locations, whenever required, to investigate quality-related complaints.
- Conduct on-site product inspection and identify the actual cause of the complaint.
- Distinguish between manufacturing defects, handling/storage damage, installation-related issues, usage-related concerns, and other causes.
- Prepare detailed inspection/visit reports supported by photographs, observations, findings, and recommendations.
- Coordinate with Sales, Customer Service, Warehouse, Factory, and Quality teams for appropriate resolution.
- Track repeated customer complaints and identify areas requiring corrective and preventive action.
- Provide timely technical inputs to support complaint closure.
D. Return & Bad Inventory Reduction
- Take ownership of reducing overall warehouse returns and bad/non-reworkable inventory .
- Analyze return data and identify major product-, defect-, and reason-wise trends.
- Identify recurring issues and work with cross-functional teams to eliminate root causes.
- Monitor rework recovery and maximize conversion of reworkable returns into saleable inventory.
- Drive corrective actions to prevent repeat defects and avoid unnecessary returns.
- Monitor product-wise and defect-wise return trends.
- Prepare periodic reports covering:
- Return %
- Rework %
- Non-Reworkable %
- Bad Inventory
- Major defect categories
- Corrective action status
E. Warehouse Quality Control
- Ensure compliance with company-defined quality standards, SOPs, and work instructions.
- Conduct regular quality checks on:
- Product handling
- Storage conditions
- Stacking
- FIFO practices
- Packing
- Loading and unloading
- Dispatch practices
- Identify potential quality risks within warehouse operations and initiate timely corrective action.
- Ensure proper handling of mattresses, sofas, and accessories to prevent transit or warehouse damage.
- Support internal and external quality audits.
- Participate in quality improvement and process improvement initiatives.
F. Data Management & MIS Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality records using Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets .
- Maintain records related to:
- PDI inspections
- Product returns
- Reworkable / Non-Reworkable products
- Customer complaints
- Market visits
- Bad inventory
- Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
- Product-wise trends
- Defect-wise trends
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly quality MIS reports.
- Analyze quality data and highlight key issues, trends, and improvement opportunities to management.
- Prepare presentations and quality reports using Microsoft PowerPoint .
- Maintain data accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting.
- Update relevant quality information in SAP , wherever applicable.
3. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
Performance will be measured primarily through:
- Reduction in overall warehouse return %
- Reduction in bad/non-reworkable inventory
- Reduction in customer complaints
- Reduction in repeat customer complaints
- Improvement in rework recovery %
- Timely closure of returned products
- Accuracy and completeness of quality data
- Timely submission of daily/weekly/monthly MIS
- Effective implementation and closure of corrective and preventive actions
- Reduction in warehouse-related product damage
- Improvement in overall warehouse quality performance
Technical Skills
- Good knowledge of Quality Control / Quality Assurance activities.
- Experience in the mattress, sofa, furniture, upholstery, home-furnishing, or similar industry will be preferred.
- Good understanding of mattress and sofa construction, materials, upholstery, finishing, and common quality defects.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Inspection and defect identification
- Product segregation
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
- Corrective & Preventive Action (CAPA)
- Quality documentation
- Quality data analysis
- Good working knowledge of:

5. Qualification & Experience
Qualification:
- Diploma / Graduate in a relevant discipline.
- Diploma / Degree in Engineering, Quality, Production, Mechanical, or a related field will be preferred.
Experience:
- 3–7 years of relevant experience in Quality Control / Quality Assurance.
- Experience in mattress, sofa, furniture, upholstery, home-furnishing, or related manufacturing/warehouse operations will be preferred.

7. Overall Role Expectation
The Quality Executive will be the primary Quality representative at the Delhi Warehouse and will be responsible for end-to-end warehouse quality performance.
The role is not limited to identifying defects. The individual is expected to:
- Prevent defective products from being dispatched.
- Ensure proper inspection and disposition of returned products.
- Maximize recovery of reworkable inventory.
- Reduce customer complaints and repeat complaints.
- Identify and eliminate recurring quality issues.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Ensure accurate quality data and timely MIS reporting.
- Continuously improve the overall quality performance of the Delhi Warehouse.
