Job summary

Volvo Group India’s ExcelHer program offers a 9-month returnship to restart your career in engineering. Open to individuals who have taken a career break of one year or more, the program provides mentorship from business leaders and structured development across functions and technologies.

As a Mechanical Engineering graduate, you will perform powertrain analyses, mesh components, run simulations, and collaborate with global teams to optimize weight and cost while delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Mechanical Engineering graduate or post-graduate with a focus on powertrain technology.
  • Experience in Fatigue analysis, Vibration analysis and Static analysis, preferably in Powertrain domain.
  • Proficiency in Ansys APDL, Abaqus and ANSA; automation scripting with Python or similar.

Responsibilities

  • Perform calculation and simulation on Powertrain components and systems.
  • Define loads and boundary conditions for components/systems.
  • Mesh components with required quality (tetra, shell).
  • Virtually verify components/systems.
  • Optimize components/systems to reduce weight/cost.
  • Provide input to concept, component and system selection.
  • Interact with global design team – take inputs, run analysis, write and present technical reports.

Qualifications and Requirements
  • Mechanical Engineering Graduate or Post-graduate
  • Experience in Fatigue analysis, Vibration analysis, Static analysis. Preferably in Powertrain domain – Engines, Driveline (Axles, Gear boxes, etc.)
  • Software skill required: Ansys APDL, Abaqus and ANSA
  • Automation skills - Using Python or any scripting
  • Good understanding of Powertrain technology, materials knowledge, awareness of powertrain parts and accessories.
  • Strong commitment to deliver on time with consistent and strict adherence to quality.
