Job summary

Volvo Group India invites applications for the ExcelHer returnship program, a 9-month assignment designed to help professionals restart their careers in a global technology setting.

Join the Special Vehicle Development & Customer Adaptation team to work on Electrical Architecture, harness design, and vehicle networking, with mentorship and cross-functional collaboration across functions, technologies, and cultures.

Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering is required.
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical architecture and vehicle networks preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the Electrical design concepts and schematics.
  • Create and maintain functional schematics.
  • Define fuse and wire dimensioning.
  • Investigate system-level or truck-level issues and provide solutions.
  • Demonstrate understanding of CAN/LIN/DOIP/J1938/J1587/UDS protocols and power distribution topology.

About the team:

Special Vehicle Development & Customer Adaptation team is within Vehicle Strategy & Integration, GTT. We are a bunch of highly motivated and skilled engineers who are passionate about our work and use our creativity to design, develop and maintain customized products & niche offers.

Our mantra is to have a lean development mode with Quick to market and optimized costs.

  • Develop the Electrical design concepts
  • Create and maintain the functional schematics
  • Defining fuse and wire dimensioning.
  • Investigating system level or truck level issues and providing right solutions.
  • Good understanding the communication & power distribution topology

Skills Required:

  • Mandatory Skill Sets:
  • Electrical Architecture
  • SABER, Electrical integration tool like Capital Harness XC/Creo Schematic, Zuken
  • Hands on knowledge - CAN (Controller Area Network), LIN (Local Interconnect Network), DOIP, J1938, J1587, UDS (Urea Dosing System) protocols
  • Manufacturing knowledge on wiring harness
  • Secondary Skill Sets:
  • Wiring Harness & schematic skill
  • Creo (Specific CAD (COMPUTER AIDED DESIGN) tool)
  • Planning and organizing self with focus on results

Education & Experience Required:

  • Completed B.E / B.Tech. Electrical & Electronics Engineering
  • Knowledge of MS Office tools: Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
