Job summary

AWL Agri Business Ltd. is seeking a senior ETP Operations lead to oversee the effluent treatment plant, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize water recovery. The role requires deep experience in wastewater treatment and a proven ability to drive sustainability initiatives within a manufacturing context.

The candidate will monitor performance, coordinate with authorities, and build a high-performing team with a strong safety culture, within FMCG/related industries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical/Environmental/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management is an added advantage.
  • 13–18 years of ETP/STP operations experience in FMCG, edible oil, or manufacturing.

Job description

Role & responsibilities :
  • Lead and manage the overall operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP).
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, statutory requirements, and company standards.

  • Drive sustainability initiatives and resource conservation programs.
  • Monitor plant performance, operational efficiency, and cost optimization.
  • Coordinate with regulatory authorities, auditors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing team while ensuring a strong safety culture
Additional Knowledge & Regulatory Compliance Requirements :

Hands-on experience in operation and troubleshooting of SUF, UF, MBR, RO, EDI Systems, MEE Plant, ATFD, and ZLD Systems.

Sound knowledge of Water Treatment Plant (WTP), Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP), Sewage Treatment Plant (STP), Water Recovery & Reuse Systems.

Experience in preparation and submission of regulatory returns including:

  • Form 3 (Hazardous Waste)
  • Form 4 (Annual Return)
  • Form 5 (Accident Reporting)
  • Environmental Annual Reports

Expertise in EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility) compliance for:

  • Plastic Waste Management (PWM)
  • Battery Waste Management (BWM)
  • Hazardous Waste Management (HWM)

Working knowledge of GPCB/XGN Portal for online applications, return filing, consent management, and compliance tracking.

Proven experience in obtaining and managing statutory approvals and documentation:

  • CTE (Consent to Establish)
  • CTO (Consent to Operate)
  • CCA (Consolidated Consent & Authorization)
  • Environmental Clearance (EC)

Strong knowledge of environmental laws, pollution control norms, statutory compliance, audit management, and liaison with regulatory authorities.

Experience in sustainability initiatives, water conservation projects, waste minimization, resource optimization, and ESG-related environmental practices.

Preferred candidate profile
Educational Qualification
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Management or related fields will be an added advantage.
Experience Required
  • 13-18 years of experience in ETP/STP operations within FMCG, edible oil, food processing, chemical, petrochemical, or manufacturing industries.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role handling ETP operations.
  • Strong understanding of wastewater treatment technologies, ZLD systems, environmental compliance, and statutory requirements.
  • Experience in managing environmental audits, pollution control norms, and sustainability projects.
  • Proven track record in process optimization, cost reduction, and team management.
