Job summary

Vesat Management in Coimbatore, India, is seeking an experienced engineer to prepare accurate techno-commercial cost estimates and proposals for heavy fabrication projects such as vessels, tanks, boilers, and related equipment. You will analyze customer requirements, drawings, and specifications to build reliable cost models.

The role covers reviewing RFQs, preparing BOQs and cost sheets, sourcing quotations, and evaluating risks and contingencies to optimize project costs.

Qualifications

• 5 to 8 years of experience in estimation, costing, or proposal engineering.
• Experience in industrial dampers, heavy fabrication, ducting systems, boilers, or process equipment industries preferred.
• Exposure to EPC, power plant, cement plant, steel plant or industrial equipment projects desirable.
• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering; certifications in cost estimation or project management advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate techno-commercial cost estimates and proposals for industrial heavy fabrication projects by analyzing requirements, specifications, drawings, and costs.
• Review RFQs, tender documents, specifications, and drawings.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for dampers, expansion joints, ducting systems, and related fabricated equipment.
• Calculate material, fabrication, machining, painting, packing, transportation, and installation costs.
• Prepare BOQs and cost sheets.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for cost optimization.
• Evaluate project risks and contingencies while preparing estimates.

Role & responsibilities

To prepare accurate techno-commercial cost estimates and proposals for industrial Heavy fabrication/Vessels/Tanks/Heat exchange/Boiler projects by analyzing customer requirements, technical specifications, drawings, material requirements, fabrication processes, and project execution costs.

• Review customer RFQs, tender documents, specifications, and engineering drawings.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for industrial dampers, expansion joints, ducting systems, and related fabricated equipment.
• Calculate material, fabrication, machining, painting, packing, transportation, and installation costs.
• Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities) and cost sheets.
• Obtain quotations from suppliers and subcontractors for cost optimization.
• Evaluate project risks and contingencies while preparing estimates.

Preferred candidate profile

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• Additional certification in Cost Estimation or Project Management will be an advantage.

Experience

• 5 to 8 years of experience in estimation, costing, or proposal engineering.
• Experience in industrial dampers, heavy fabrication, ducting systems, pressure parts, steel structures, boilers, or process equipment industries preferred.
