Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in estimation or quantity surveying.
• Experience with electrical systems cost estimation and BOQ.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and BOQ for LV, MV, HV, lighting and power systems.
• Source, review and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations for compliance and cost effectiveness.
• Create cost estimation sheets, comparison statements and rate build-ups aligned with specs and benchmarks.
• Coordinate with procurement, design and planning to gather inputs for pricing.
• Develop and maintain estimation tools, cost databases and vendor records.
• Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings to understand project conditions.
• Assist in preparing and submitting technical and commercial bid packages.
• Support estimation manager in value engineering, risk analysis and bid strategy.
• Participate in post-tender clarifications and negotiations as required.
• Ensure all estimates comply with standards (e.g., DEWA, ADDC, IEC, IEEE).

The Electrical Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical systems related to commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects. This includes detailed quantity take-offs, cost evaluation, vendor and subcontractor liaison, and ensuring timely submission of tenders and proposals in alignment with client specifications and project requirements.Analyze tender documents including drawings, specifications, scope of work, and project timelines for electrical works.

Role & responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for electrical systems such as LV, MV, HV systems, lighting, power, ELV, and other related services.
• Source, review, and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance and cost effectiveness.
• Prepare cost estimation sheets, comparison statements, and rate build-ups in line with project specifications and market benchmarks.
• Coordinate with internal departments (procurement, design, planning) to gather necessary inputs for accurate pricing.
• Develop and maintain estimation tools, cost databases, and vendor/subcontractor records.
• Attend site visits and pre-bid meetings when required to understand project conditions and challenges.
• Assist in the preparation and submission of technical and commercial bid packages.
• Support the Estimation Manager in value engineering exercises, risk analysis, and final bid strategy.
