Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Strong foundation in civil engineering, construction methods, materials and drawings.
• Experience in BOQ preparation and project estimation.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor coordination abilities.
• Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with CAD or estimation software is an advantage.

Role Description The Estimation Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. The Estimation Engineer is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates, quantities, and BOQs for civil construction projects, based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions. Daily tasks include analyzing project requirements, conducting cost and rate comparisons, coordinating with design and project teams, and updating estimates as project information evolves. The role also involves supporting negotiations with vendors and contractors, maintaining estimation records, and assisting in budget planning and bid preparation. The Estimation Engineer is expected to collaborate closely with project managers and client-facing teams to ensure accurate, timely, and transparent cost information.
Qualifications

• Strong skills in BOQ preparation and Project Estimation, with the ability to produce accurate quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns.
• Solid foundation in Civil Engineering, including understanding of construction methods, materials, and structural drawings.
• Effective Negotiation skills for coordinating with suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders on pricing and scope.
• Competence in Research for market rates, material specifications, and industry benchmarks to support reliable estimates.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in estimation and MS Office tools; familiarity with CAD or estimation software is an advantage.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines in a project-driven environment.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
