Job summary

Contemporary Amperex Technology Thuringia GmbH seeks an on-site commissioning engineer to support large-scale BESS projects in India. You will participate in commissioning, SAT, and grid testing, troubleshoot on-site issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery.

Ability to travel internationally and read electrical diagrams is essential. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, 1–3 years of relevant experience, and Mandarin proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in electrical/related fields.
• 1-3 years of experience in electrical equipment commissioning or energy projects.
• Familiarity with primary/secondary electrical systems.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and communication topology drawings.
• Fluent English; Mandarin Chinese proficiency required.
• Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long-term assignments overseas.
• Experience with BESS, PV, or wind projects preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in commissioning, project delivery and SAT for BESS projects.
• Assist with commissioning of PCS/EMS and troubleshoot on-site.
• Support grid connection testing and project acceptance activities.
• Train customers on system operation and maintenance.
• Track commissioning issues through to closure and ensure on-schedule delivery.

Job description

• Participate in the commissioning, project delivery, and acceptance of large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
• Perform commissioning, troubleshooting, and defect resolution for battery containers/cabinets, including:

Fire Suppression System (FSS),Liquid Cooling System (HVAC/TMS),DC Circuits (up to 1500V DC),Auxiliary AC Circuits (220V/400V AC),BMS Communication Systems

• Assist with the commissioning of PCS (Power Conversion System) and EMS (Energy Management System), with a basic understanding of their operating principles.
• Support on-site issue analysis, fault diagnosis, corrective actions, and issue closure together with the project team.
• Participate in Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), grid connection testing, and project acceptance activities.
• Support customer training on system operation, maintenance, and product usage.
• Track commissioning issues through to closure and ensure projects are delivered according to schedule.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, After-Sales Service, Project Management, etc.) to resolve site issues efficiently.
• Comply with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) requirements and ensure safe execution of all commissioning activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above.
• Preferred majors include Electrical Engineering, Communication Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, or related disciplines.
• 1-3 years of experience in electrical equipment commissioning, energy projects, or related industries.
• Familiarity with one or more of the following areas:Basic knowledge of primary and secondary electrical systems;

Energy storage systems, photovoltaic (PV) systems, and power systems;Basic principles of BMS, PCS, and EMS;

Industrial communication protocols such as CAN and Modbus RTU/TCP;Communication networks and fieldbus technologies.

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and communication topology drawings.
• Knowledge of BESS grid-connection processes, substation equipment, and power plant delivery procedures is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard office software.
• Strong analytical, communication, coordination, and teamwork skills.
• Fluent in English for daily work and on-site communication; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is required.
• Willingness to travel extensively and undertake long-term assignments at project sites overseas

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), photovoltaic (PV), or wind power projects.
• Low-voltage and/or high-voltage electrical certification, or equivalent electrical qualifications.
• Experience working on international projects or in a multicultural environment.
