Job summary

Kumudu Software Solutions in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced ERPNext/Frappe developer to design, build, and deploy modular solutions for jewellery-retail workflows. You will implement rule-based pricing and approvals, and integrate ERPNext with multiple external systems via REST APIs.

The role requires strong Python and JavaScript skills, Docker/AWS familiarity, and Linux server administration. You will mentor junior engineers and deliver robust, scalable ERP solutions.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Build, customize ERPNext/Frappe modules, custom DocTypes, reports, dashboards, and print formats for jewellery-retail workflows.
• Architect configurable business-rule engines within Frappe for pricing, schemes, taxation, and approvals.
• Integrate ERPNext with WhatsApp Business API, SMS gateways, payment systems, barcode/RFID hardware and biometric payroll devices via REST APIs.
• Own MariaDB/MySQL performance, including query tuning, backups, and recovery for multi-branch data.
• Deploy on Linux VPS/AWS (bench, Docker, nginx) with monitored backups and rollback plans.
• Mentor team members, conduct code reviews, set standards, and document SOPs.
• Convert jewellery requirements into technical designs; estimate honestly, commit to dates, and communicate slippage.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Build: Design, develop, and deploy ERPNext/Frappe modules, custom DocTypes, reports, dashboards, and print formats for jewellery-retail workflows.
• Rule-based design: Architect configurable business-rule engines within Frappe (server scripts, workflow states, validation hooks) so pricing, schemes, taxation, and approvals are driven by rules not code changes per customer.
• Integrate: Integrate ERPNext with WhatsApp Business API, SMS gateways, payment systems, barcode/RFID hardware, weighing scales, and biometric payroll devices via REST APIs.
• Database: Own MariaDB/MySQL performance — query tuning, indexing, backup/restore discipline, and recovery for multi-branch, high-volume transaction data.
• Deploy: Manage deployments on Linux VPS/AWS (bench, Docker, nginx), with monitored backups and rollback plans.
• Mentor: Run code reviews, set coding standards, break work into tasks for juniors, and grow desktop/support engineers into ERPNext talent. Document SOPs so knowledge never lives in one head.
• Own delivery: Convert jeweller requirements into technical designs; estimate honestly, commit to dates, and communicate slippage early.

Must-Have Skills

• 2–5 years of hands-on Frappe Framework / ERPNext development (customization, custom apps, migrations).
• Strong Python; solid JavaScript (client scripts; Vue.js a plus).
• MariaDB/MySQL: schema design, query optimization, backup and recovery.
• REST API design and third-party integrations; Git-based workflow.
• Linux server administration (bench setup, supervisor, nginx).
• Clear communicator in English; Kannada or Hindi is an advantage for customer interaction.

Good to Have

• AWS (EC2, RDS, S3, backups) or other cloud deployment experience.
• Retail, jewellery, or BFSI domain exposure; GST/e-invoice knowledge.
• Docker, CI/CD, automated testing; prior experience mentoring or leading a small team.
