Job summary

HR Mind is seeking an experienced EHS Engineer to oversee construction safety, environmental safeguards, and regulatory compliance on our Assam project sites. You will lead risk assessments, audits, training, incident investigations, and reporting to authorities while coordinating with contractors.

The role requires BE/B.Tech in Civil or Diploma Civil with extensive site EHS exposure and strong knowledge of OHS standards and ESMPs.

Qualifications

• Monitor and supervise construction to ensure OHS compliance with standards.
• Oversee ESMPs/HSMPs and environmental safeguards, identifying risks.
• Conduct site inspections, safety walks and audits.
• Implement hazard identification, risk assessment and controls.
• Support documentation of CoCs and regulatory obligations.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Monitor and supervise construction and commissioning activities to ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards, project specifications, and statutory requirements.
• Oversee the implementation of Environmental and Social Management Plans (ESMPs), Health & Safety Management Plans (HSMPs), and other environmental safeguards, while identifying risks and recommending corrective actions.
• Conduct regular site inspections, safety walks, audits, and compliance assessments to maintain safe working conditions and adherence to project requirements.
• Implement and monitor hazard identification, risk assessment, and control measures to prevent accidents and unsafe work practices.
• Support the implementation, monitoring, and documentation of Certificates of Compliance (CoCs) and other regulatory obligations.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and non-conformities, prepare investigation reports, and recommend preventive and corrective actions.
• Coordinate and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, awareness programs, and capacity-building initiatives for project personnel and contractors.
• Assist the EHS team in preparing environmental, health, safety, and compliance reports for regulatory authorities and funding agencies, including World Bank and SEIAA requirements.
• Liaise with contractors, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective implementation of EHS requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure that renovation works are completed in accordance with approved designs, quality standards, environmental requirements, and safety regulations, contributing to the successful handover of facilities fit for operation and use.

1. Qualification + Experience

• B.E./B.Tech Civil: Minimum 5 years relevant site experience, with EHS role exposure.
• Diploma Civil: Minimum 8 years relevant site experience, with EHS role exposure.
