Job summary

Brainsquare is expanding its offshore support capacity and seeks an experienced EI Support Engineer to ensure stability, performance, and incident resolution for IBM middleware environments.

You will join an international team, support ACE/IIB and MQ in production, and collaborate with other teams to meet SLAs, with a focus on quick ramp-up and proactive monitoring.

Qualifications

• 3–6 years of enterprise integration or middleware support experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with IBM ACE, IIB/Broker, and IBM MQ in production.
• Good knowledge of message flow architecture, ESQL, and broker administration.
• Experience with Linux environments, shell scripting, and deployment automation.
• Familiarity with ITSM ticketing (ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk) and English communication.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in IBM ACE, IIB/Broker, and IBM MQ environments.
• Maintain and support existing broker message flows, integration servers, and enterprise messaging components in production.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for failed message flows or connectivity problems.
• Understand existing Broker implementations and contribute to incident resolution with minimal ramp-up time.
• Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to maintain interface health and SLA adherence.
• Handle incident, service request, and change management via ITSM tools.
• Deploy and configure flows, bar files, and integration servers across DEV, TEST, PROD.
• Maintain system documentation and runbooks for recurring cases.
• Proactively monitor queues, memory, and broker performance; suggest automation or alerts.

EI Support Engineer - IBM

About the role:

Brainsquare is expanding its offshore support capacity within a dynamic international environment supporting complex enterprise integration landscapes.

We are looking for an experienced Enterprise Integration (EI) Support Engineer with hands-on experience supporting enterprise IBM Broker environments based on IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Integration Bus (IIB), and IBM MQ. The ideal candidate can quickly become productive in an existing enterprise integration landscape without requiring extensive onboarding or technical training.

You will be part of an international team responsible for ensuring stability, performance, and incident resolution for mission-critical integrations built on IBM middleware technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve integration issues within IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE) and IBM MQ environments.
• Support and maintain existing IBM Broker (ACE/IIB) message flows, integration servers, and enterprise messaging components within a production environment.
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective actions for failed message flows or queue connectivity problems.
• Quickly understand existing Broker implementations and contribute to incident resolution with minimal ramp-up time.
• Collaborate closely with application and infrastructure teams to maintain interface health and ensure SLA compliance.
• Handle incident, service request, and change management via ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
• Deploy and configure message flows, bar files, and integration servers in DEV, TEST, and PROD environments.
• Maintain system documentation and provide operational runbooks for recurring support cases.
• Proactively monitor message queues, memory usage, and broker performance, and suggest automation or alerting improvements.

Required Skills and Experience:

• 3-6 years of experience in enterprise integration or middleware support.
• Strong hands-on experience supporting IBM App Connect Enterprise (ACE), IBM Integration Bus (IIB/Broker), and IBM MQ within enterprise production environments.
• Previous experience maintaining existing Broker (ACE/IIB) integration landscapes rather than only developing new integrations.
• Ability to work independently in an established enterprise integration environment with minimal technical onboarding.
• Good understanding of message flow architecture, ESQL, and integration node administration.
• Knowledge of SOAP, REST, JDBC, XML, JSON, and HTTP/S protocols.
• Familiarity with Linux environments, shell scripting, and deployment automation.
• Experience with ticket handling and incident management (ServiceNow, Jira Service Desk).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills in English.

Nice-to-have skills:

• Experience supporting large enterprise integration platforms with high-availability and SLA-driven operations.
• Knowledge of cloud or containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift).
• Experience working with DevOps concepts (CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins).
• Prior experience in an offshore support or shared-service environment.
