Job summary

Adani Energy Solutions Ltd. in Ahmedabad seeks an experienced design engineer to lead transmission tower and foundation design, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and optimizing weight for tender quantities.

You will perform sag-tension calculations, support client and consultants, and deliver tower designs on time using PLS Tower software, with a focus on safe, reliable infrastructure and strong mentoring of the team.

7–15 years of experience and knowledge of standards are required.

Qualifications

• 7-15 years of work experience in the design of transmission towers and foundations.
• Knowledge of standards and codes relevant to transmission line engineering.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering documents for transmission tower and foundation design.
• Design per applicable codes and standards.
• Optimize tower and foundation weight relative to tender quantities.
• Perform sag-tension calculations and estimate tower weight at tender stage.
• Ensure safe and optimized tower designs and timely delivery.
• Support clients and coordinate with consultants as needed.
• Deliver designs using PLS Tower software and obtain timely approvals.
• Provide guidance and coaching to team for operational goals.

Preparation, review, and approval of transmission line tower & foundation designs including associated documents and accessories & coordination with client and consultant related to engineering activities where required.

Roles and Responsibilities

Strategic Roles & Responsibilities

• Preparation of engineering documents related to transmission tower and foundation design.
• Design as per relevant codes and standards.
• Optimize overall weight of tower and foundation with respect to tender quantity.
• Perform Sag tension calculation. Provide approximate weight of tower at tender stage.
• Safe and optimized designing of tower.
• Timely completion of designing of transmission line towers and foundations.
• Support client for engineering activities.
• Design of transmission tower, with use of PLS Tower software of transmission line design.
• Submission of transmission tower design within time limit.
• Approval of designs without major comments.
• Successful type testing of towers.
• Provide support to team for any engineering work.

People Management

• Provide guidance to team and coaching to the team to achieve the operational and financial metrics within their areas of responsibility and succeed in their roles.
• Ensure training and continuous learning of team.
