Agnikul Cosmos in Chennai is seeking a hands-on Engineering Project Manager to lead end-to-end projects across cross-functional teams, defining timelines, dependencies, and deliverables, and driving them to completion with clear action plans.

The role emphasizes problem solving, ownership, and proactive risk management, coordinating with engineering and non-engineering teams, escalating issues when needed, and maintaining visibility through regular reviews and status reports.

Formación

• 2-5 years of experience in Engineering Project Management or a similar execution-focused role.
• Experience managing cross-functional projects involving multiple teams and dependencies.
• Strong project planning, coordination, tracking, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand technical and operational requirements and work effectively with engineering and non-engineering teams.
• Strong ownership and follow-through; comfortable with ambiguity and no predefined playbook.
• Aerospace, defence, automotive, manufacturing, hardware or other complex engineering environments preferred.
• Comfortable working in a 6-day work week and willingness to work extended hours based on project requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Own engineering projects end-to-end, from planning and execution to closure, ensuring timelines, dependencies, and deliverables are clearly defined and tracked.
• Work closely with engineering and other teams to coordinate activities and keep projects moving.
• Identify bottlenecks, dependencies, risks, and delays, and proactively work with relevant teams to resolve them.
• Drive regular project reviews, track milestones and action items, and ensure owners follow through on commitments.
• Build and maintain project plans, schedules, resource requirements, and status reports.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure information, decisions, materials, and resources reach the right people at the right time.
• Escalate critical issues when required and work with stakeholders to arrive at practical solutions.
• Monitor project progress against timelines and proactively communicate changes, risks, and recovery plans to leadership.
• Support process improvements and introduce better ways of working to improve execution speed, accountability, and visibility.
• Take ownership of problems outside the immediate scope of the role when required to ensure the overall project gets delivered.

ABOUT

Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (Indias first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the new technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India.

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Project Manager who can work across teams, understand bottlenecks, coordinate people and resources, and drive projects to completion. This is a highly execution-oriented role for someone who enjoys solving problems, chasing dependencies, and getting things done rather than simply tracking tasks.

This role is for you if

• You naturally ask “What is blocking this?” instead of waiting for an update.

• You are comfortable getting into the details when something is stuck.

• You can coordinate with multiple teams without needing formal authority over them.

• You enjoy taking a messy problem and turning it into a clear action plan.
