Job summary

Agnikul Cosmos is seeking curious, hands-on business professionals to research markets, understand customers and industries, identify growth opportunities, and turn information into actionable business strategies.

Responsibilities include studying the existing business, identifying opportunities, visiting sites, engaging with customers and partners, tracking market developments, and coordinating with internal teams to convert opportunities into concrete actions.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of experience in BD/Market Research or related roles.
• Experience in aerospace/defence/engineering preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work on-field.
• Ability to independently research, collect, analyse and present information.
• Be proactive, curious and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

ABOUT

We are looking for curious, hands-on business professionals who can research markets, understand customers and industries, identify growth opportunities, and turn information into actionable business strategies.

Agnikul Cosmos is a company incubated at IIT Madras and we build rockets that can take satellites up to 500 kg to Lower Earth Orbit (LEO). In May 2024, we successfully completed our maiden launch from our own launchpad (India's first private launchpad). The launch has proven all the new technologies developed by Agnikul and also earned recognition from Honourable Prime Minister of India.

We are looking for curious, hands-on business professionals who can research markets, understand customers and industries, identify growth opportunities, and turn information into actionable business strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understand the existing business, products, capabilities, and customer base to identify areas for potential growth and new business opportunities.
• Research and identify potential customers, markets, suppliers, partners, and business opportunities relevant to the company's requirements and future plans.
• Visit customers, vendors, industrial locations, exhibitions, and other relevant places to gather information, understand market requirements, and build business relationships.
• Engage with potential customers and industry contacts to understand their requirements, upcoming projects, procurement needs, and potential areas of collaboration.
• Track market and industry developments, including new companies, projects, technologies, competitors, and opportunities, and share relevant insights with the team.
• Build and maintain a database of potential customers, contacts, opportunities, and market information and ensure regular follow-up on identified opportunities.
• Work closely with internal technical, operations, procurement, and leadership teams to evaluate opportunities and support their conversion into actionable business opportunities.

Requirements

• 2–6 years of experience in Business Development, Market Research, Sales, Strategy, Industry Research, or a similar business-facing role.
• Experience in aerospace, defence, engineering, manufacturing, automotive, or other technology-driven industries would be preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable interacting with customers, vendors, and people across different levels.
• Willingness to travel extensively and work on-field as required.
• Ability to independently research, collect, analyse, and present information.
• Should be proactive, curious, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to understand technical/business concepts and translate them into potential business opportunities.
• Willingness to work extended hours whenever required.
