Umwelt Peopletech Solutions is seeking an hands-on Engineering Manager / Head of Engineering with deep expertise in SaaS architecture, multi-tenant systems, and AWS cloud. The role combines technical depth with strong team leadership to deliver scalable backend services in Python/Django and MongoDB.

You will drive backend design, CI/CD, security best practices, and data workflows, while mentoring engineers and shaping the product roadmap for scalable B2B SaaS platforms.

Qualifications

• 8 to 14 years experience in Product Engineering
• 5+ years leading engineering teams
• Experience building scalable B2B SaaS products
• Strong system design expertise
• Hands-on coder (not only managerial)
• Experience handling high-traffic production systems

Responsibilities

• SaaS Architecture & System Design: design and scale multi-tenant SaaS architecture and optimize for high concurrency (100K+ conversations)
• Backend Engineering: lead Python/Django backend development, build and optimize REST APIs, improve MongoDB architecture
• Cloud & DevOps: manage AWS infrastructure, improve CI/CD pipelines, implement logging and observability, ensure security best practices (ISO 2701, GDPR)
• AI & Data Systems: work on GPT/LLM-based orchestration, optimize intent analysis, build scalable analytics layers
• Engineering Team Leadership: lead sprint planning, mentor developers, drive code quality and architecture governance

We are looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager / Head of Engineering with strong expertise in:

Key Responsibilities

1. SaaS Architecture & System Design

• Design and scale multi-tenant SaaS architecture
• Optimize system for high concurrency (100K+ simultaneous conversations)
• Improve system performance, reliability, and scalability
  

2. Backend Engineering

• Lead Python/Django backend development
• Build and optimize REST APIs
• Improve database architecture (MongoDB)
  

3. Cloud & DevOps

• Manage AWS infrastructure (EC2, ELB, S3, RDS, VPC)
• Improve CI/CD pipelines
• Implement logging, monitoring, and observability
• Ensure security best practices (ISO 2701, GDPR compliant)
  

4. AI & Data Systems

• Work on GPT/LLM-based orchestration
• Optimize intent analysis pipelines
• Build scalable analytics layers
• Handle large-scale data ingestion (incremental & batch)
  

5. Engineering Team Leadership
