Fairmont Udaipur Palace is seeking an Engineering leader to oversee the daily operations of the Engineering Department at our luxury hotel during the pre-opening phase. You will ensure reliable systems across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical domains while guiding a team of engineers.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance planning, and a focus on safety, energy conservation, and cost control in a high-service hospitality environment.

Competenze

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering field.
• Experience in hotel engineering or facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Job Description

• Supervise and manage the daily operations of the Engineering Department.
• Ensure proper functioning and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical, and other hotel systems.
• Plan and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Lead, guide, and train engineering team members.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and operational issues.
• Ensure compliance with hotel safety standards, statutory requirements, and maintenance procedures.
• Monitor energy and water consumption and implement conservation measures.
• Coordinate with other departments to address maintenance requirements and guest-related concerns.
• Manage engineering contractors, vendors, and service providers.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, equipment servicing, and inspections.
• Monitor engineering-related expenses and support effective cost control.
• Assist in renovation, refurbishment, and new engineering projects.Conduct regular inspections of hotel facilities and identify potential maintenance issues.
• Ensure proper inventory and availability of engineering tools, equipment, and spare parts.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure the team follows all safety procedures.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related Engineering field.
• Relevant experience in hotel engineering or facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Good leadership and team-management skills.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle emergencies effectively.
• Proficiency in basic computer applications and maintenance-management systems.
