Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a C Linux technical lead for NSE at M or SA level. Work from the Mumbai client office (BKC) is mandatory on every working day with no WFH or Hybrid model.

The role demands strong proficiency in C on Linux, IPC, and multithreading, with exposure to real-time trading environments. Ideal candidates have 8+ years of development experience in C, solid Unix/Linux knowledge, and familiarity with GDB and version control.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years of development experience in C.
• Strong understanding of Unix/Linux environments.
• Proficient in pointers and IPC mechanisms (shared memory).
• Experience with multithreading/multiprocessing, socket programming, data structures, and process synchronization.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead C/Linux-based software projects.
• Debug and optimize Linux applications using tools like GDB.
• Coordinate with clients and ensure robust code with version control practices.

• Technical Skills: C Linux
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux is expected
• Minimum 8+ years of development experience in C
• Excellent understanding of pointers and IPC in Unix (shared memory)
• Excellent knowledge on Multithreading and Multiprocessing application exposure socket programming data structures process synchronization etc
• Working experience in Linux application debugging tools (GDB)
• Sound knowledge of Version Control
• Strong written and oral communication with good client interaction skills
• Exposure to trading and/or real-time applications will be a plus
• Knowledge of shell script development is plus
