Job summary

Cognizant located in Mumbai is seeking a level 1-2 developer with strong C Linux skills. The role requires 3+ years of development experience in C, deep knowledge of Unix/Linux, IPC, and multithreading. You will work on low-latency, socket-based applications with GDB debugging and version control.

Regular on-site presence in Mumbai is mandatory. Responsibilities include implementing C Linux features, IPC mechanisms, and socket programming, with emphasis on performance and data structures.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Technical Skills: C Linux
• Good understanding of Unix/Linux is expected
• Minimum 3+ years of development experience in C
• Excellent understanding of pointers and IPC in Unix (shared memory)
• Excellent knowledge on Multithreading and Multiprocessing application exposure socket programming data structures process synchronization etc
• Working experience in Linux application debugging tools (GDB)
• Sound knowledge of Version Control
• Strong written and oral communication with good client interaction skills
• Exposure to trading and/or real-time applications will be a plus
• Knowledge of shell script development is plus
