Job summary

Mozn invites a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high-performance team building and scaling Focal, with focus on reliability and customer impact. You will mentor engineers, set architectural direction, and ensure delivery of features across SaaS platforms.

You'll guide design, code quality, and development processes, drive hiring when needed, and enable teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions that empower customers with trusted AI.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field.
• 10 years of software engineering experience.
• Previous team leadership experience.
• Strong communication and ability to explain complex concepts.
• Experience with distributed systems and scalable architectures.
• Proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with Scrum/Agile software processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of engineers to design, develop and maintain product features.
• Ensure the code and design quality are against the industry’s best practices and highest standards.
• Coach and mentor team members on high-level design, architecture, effort sizing, and testing practices.
• Give engineers feedback on their day-to-day job performance.
• Steer the engineers’ individual learning and development plans.
• Initiate hiring and the allocation of any resources needed to support the team.
• Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments.
• Oversee the implementation of the software development process.

Qualifications

Our target profile is candidates with...

• BS/MS from a top school in Computer Science or any related field.
• 10 years of software engineering experience, preferably in SaaS or large-scale distributed applications.
• Previous team leadership experience.
• Solid communication skills and the ability to convey technical solutions to the end-user and the engineering team.
  Ability to briefly explain sophisticated issues in systems and processes.
• Solid experience of multiple programming languages with a demonstrated drive to learn and progress in the technical skill and nuanced art of development.
• Proficient understanding of system design and distributed computing principles.
  Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, such as HBase, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
• Solid understanding of the Scrum agile framework and other software development processes.
