Job summary

Zaggle is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop high-performing teams building secure, scalable SaaS solutions in fintech. You will own end-to-end delivery from architecture to production, and drive technical strategy while mentoring engineers.

You will partner with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders to align priorities, accelerate delivery, and uphold engineering excellence, security, and compliance across platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
• 3+ years in an engineering leadership role.
• Experience building and scaling SaaS products, preferably fintech.
• Strong system design and distributed systems knowledge.
• Cloud platforms, microservices, APIs, and modern software practices.
• Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Agile, CI/CD, and DevOps.

Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead and develop high-performing engineering teams focused on delivering secure, scalable, and reliable SaaS solutions within the fintech industry. The role combines hands‑on technical delivery along with technical leadership & people management to ensure successful product execution and continuous improvement.

This role requires a strong technical leader who can drive architecture, execution, and team development while delivering scalable and reliable systems used by enterprise customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives from architecture and design through production deployment.

• Architect solutions for critical, complex and challenging problems by designing and developing highly scalable, available and reliable software solutions.


• Lead architecture discussions and guide teams in building microservices-based cloud-native systems.


• Partner with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders to deliver business priorities.


• Develop roadmaps for system and product growth, ensure timely execution and quality delivery.


• Own sprint planning, execution, release management, and engineering delivery metrics.


• Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and engineering excellence by promoting engineering best practices, code quality, CI/CD, DevOps, and automation.


• Ensure platform reliability, performance, security, and compliance with applicable fintech standards.


• Drive continuous improvement through process optimization and technical innovation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.


• 10+ years of hands‑on software engineering experience, including 3+ years in an engineering leadership role.


• Experience building and scaling SaaS products, preferably in the fintech domain.


• Strong system design and architecture skills.


• Strong experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems


• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), microservices, APIs, and modern software development practices.


• Programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Springboot.


• Experience with Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.


• Excellent leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Must Have:

• Deep understanding of Infra, Application Performance, deployment & Scaling


• Technical Hands‑on expertise in coding


• Solid grasp of distributed systems and microservices architecture.


• Experience with sprint/agile delivery, release management, and technical debt governance.

Good to Have:

• Knowledge of current AI capabilities and tooling (LLMs, agentic systems) and their applicability to engineering workflows.


• Experience in fintech or other regulated/compliance-heavy domains (RBI, DPDP, PCI, GST).


• Hands‑on experience evaluating or rolling out AI‑assisted developer tooling (e.g., Copilot, Claude, Cursor) at team scale.

• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis.

• Strong understanding of modern authentication protocols (OAuth 2.0, JWT, SSO).
