Qualifications

• 2+ years of formal people management experience leading software engineers.
• 8+ years of software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot / Spring MVC.
• Hands-on experience designing and scaling distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous architectures.
• Experience with cloud technologies (AWS) and databases (MySQL, MongoDB).

Key Responsibilities

• People & Team Leadership: Hire, mentor, and retain a team of software engineers. Conduct performance evaluations, establish clear career development paths, and build an inclusive, high-ownership engineering culture.
• Technical Direction & Architecture: Oversee system design and architectural trade-offs for large-scale distributed applications, balancing delivery speed, system resilience, and scalability.
• Delivery & Process: Partner with Product, Design, and QA leadership to align on roadmaps, manage project execution, and refine agile development workflows.
• Quality & Engineering Standards: Drive best practices across API design, automated testing, continuous integration/deployment (CI/CD), and operational monitoring.

Requirements

• Management: 2+ years of formal people management experience leading software engineers (including performance appraisals, career mentoring, and hiring).
• Technical Foundation: 8+ years of software engineering background designing and building applications using Java and modern frameworks (Spring Boot / Spring MVC).
• Distributed Systems: Hands-on experience designing and scaling distributed systems, microservices, and asynchronous architecture patterns.
• Cloud & Data Systems: Experience with cloud technologies (AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS) and database systems (MySQL, MongoDB).
