Job summary

Trackier is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead backend engineers, shape architecture, and unblock delivery. You’ll sit with customers when issues arise and help the team ship reliable production services.

Lead design reviews, coordinate across services, data stores, and messaging with Go and Node.js. You’ll oversee deployments on GCP and DigitalOcean, ensure observability, and mentor engineers for growth.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.
• BE/BTech graduate.
• Comfortable in working from office.
• Owned delivery for a backend team shipping production services.
• Strong communicator able to explain issues to customers and leadership.
• Experience handling customer or production escalations.
• Fluency with distributed backend systems: APIs, gRPC, Kafka, and data stores.
• Hands-on in Node.js and/or Go to review designs and debug.
• Experience deploying and operating services on GCP and/or DigitalOcean.
• Able to use logs, metrics, traces for production evidence.
• Uses AI assistants for coding, reviews, tests, and documentation without lowering quality.

• Partner with senior engineers on RFCs, incidents, and roadmap.
• Ensure team can deploy, rollback, and debug on cloud platforms.
• Drive incident response and post-incident follow-through.
• Promote observability, on-call, and documentation practices.
• Use AI tools while maintaining quality.

Trackier is Customisable Performance Marketing Software used by Ad Networks, Agencies and Advertisers to manage publisher relations. The Trackier Performance Marketing Platform enables you to create, automate, measure, and optimize all of your marketing Campaigns, Publishers, and advertisers, creatives and conversions in one place.

We are looking for an Engineering Manager for our team. You will lead people and delivery, keep technical quality high, and sit in front of customers when something is blocked or broken. You do not need to write the most code on the team. You do need to understand the systems well enough to unblock engineers and customers.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Architecture & Design Leadership
• Lead, coach, and grow a backend engineering team: 1:1s, performance, hiring, and career growth
• Own delivery: scope, sequencing, risk, and shipping against the roadmap
• Unblock the team — priorities, dependencies, design decisions, and operational load
• Customers & Communication
• Communicate clearly with customers, support, product, and engineering — no jargon hiding the actual status
• Unblock customers from a technical perspective: reproduce, triage, explain impact, and drive a fix or workaround
• Own customer escalations: join the call, set expectations, coordinate the engineering response, and close the loop
• Technical Leadership
• Hold the bar on architecture, reviews, testing, and production readiness for backend systems
• Make or facilitate calls across services, data stores, and messaging — without becoming the bottleneck
• Partner with SDE-3s and tech leads on RFCs, incidents, and the technical roadmap
• Production
• Ensure the team can deploy, roll back, and debug services on GCP and DigitalOcean
• Drive incident response and post-incident follow-through when production or a customer is hurting
• Engineering Practices
• Install simple habits: design reviews, on-call, observability, documentation
• Use AI tools for coding, review, tests, and docs; keep accountability with the engineer who ships

Requirements

• 8+ years in software engineering, including time as an Engineering Manager or lead with direct people responsibility
• BE/Btech graduate
• Comfortable in working from office.
• Has owned delivery for a backend team shipping production services
• Strong communicator — can explain a technical issue to a customer and a trade-off to leadership
• Has handled customer or production escalations: triage, communication, and close-out
• Working fluency with distributed backend systems: APIs, gRPC, Kafka or equivalent, data stores, caches
• Hands-on enough in Node.js (JavaScript / TypeScript) and/or Go to review designs and debug with the team
• Understands deploying and operating services on a public cloud (GCP and/or DigitalOcean preferred)
• Can work from production evidence: logs, metrics, traces, Grafana or equivalent
• Uses AI assistants for coding, reviews, tests, and documentation — without lowering the quality bar
