Job summary

Postman in Bengaluru is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead the Automation Testing area. You’ll own the end-to-end product experience, stay hands-on, and work alongside staff and senior engineers who shape the technical direction.

You’ll hire and grow engineers, drive delivery and on-call health, and collaborate with product, design and platform teams to ensure scalable backend systems and robust developer tools.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering experience.
• 2+ years of people management experience.
• Strong product and design sense with end-to-end ownership.
• Hands-on with AI-native engineering and modern tooling.

About The Team

Automation Testing builds how developers test and automate their APIs, from local runs and CI pipelines to scheduled and large-scale runs in the cloud.

About The Role

You’ll lead a few areas within Automation Testing and own the end-to-end product experience, from what we build to how it ships and runs. You’ll stay hands‑on, working alongside the staff and senior engineers who shape the technical direction.

What You’ll Do

• Own the end-to-end experience of your areas, across engineering, product and design


• Set technical direction with staff and senior engineers, and grow senior engineers into leads


• Hire, coach and grow engineers


• Own delivery and operational health: planning, commitments, on‑call, incidents and customer escalations


• Partner with product, design, platform and customer‑facing teams

What We’re Looking For

• 8+ years in software engineering, including 2+ years managing engineers


• A record of building products and scaling them: in users, in reliability and in the team behind them


• A keen product and design eye: you care how the experience works end to end, not just whether it ships


• Hands‑on with AI‑native engineering: you use agents in your own work, and have brought them into how a team builds and operates


• Experience leading teams that include experienced senior engineers


• A strong individual‑contributor background in backend or distributed systems, or developer tools

Nice to have

• Experience building products for developers or other engineers


• Experience with API testing, developer tools or test automation
