Job summary

N-able in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Engineering Leader to guide a seven-to-eight person team across development and QA automation. You will own backlog refinement, enforce DoR, and drive mentoring, onboarding and career growth.

You will recruit for your team, participate in code reviews, and partner with a senior IC for technical direction. You will report on delivery and quality, manage scope changes, and help build a brand-new team with defined practices.

Qualifications

• 14+ years of software engineering experience with leadership exposure.
• Proven track record hiring and onboarding engineers.
• Experience owning backlog refinement and DoR for delivery teams.
• Ability to mentor and develop engineers across levels.
• Strong collaboration with senior ICs on technical direction.
• Experience with Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and AI-DLC practices.

What You'll Bring

• Total 14+years of experience with 3+ years managing software engineering teams, plus a prior engineering background
• Reading fluency in your team’s primary languages — Java and Shell for Trust & Platform; Java, TypeScript and Robot Framework for Experience & Data
• Track record of hiring and onboarding engineers, including running technical interview panels
• Experience owning backlog refinement and Definition of Ready for a delivery team
• Comfort partnering with a senior individual contributor who holds technical authority
• Experience growing intermediate engineers into senior ones
• Demonstrated use of Spec-Driven Development (SDD) and AI-assisted development lifecycle (AI-DLC) practices, or a directly equivalent methodology
• Experience standing up a new team or site is beneficial
