Job summary

Polluxa, Inc. in Bangalore seeks a Senior Software Test Engineer - Engineer Verification and Validation to define test scenarios, perform tests, and ensure product quality while supporting development teams.

You will analyze requirements, verify test cases, and participate in refinements, collaborating with Product Owners, QA, developers and project managers to drive robust testing of protection and control systems.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of experience in Power system domain.
• Strong knowledge of Power System Protection and protection principles.
• Hands-on experience in Protection Testing for Lines, Transformers, Busbars, Motors and Generators.
• Familiarity with Substation Automation Systems and communication protocols (IEC 61850, IEC 61850-9-2, DNP3, Modbus, HSR, PRP).

Responsibilities

• Define test scenarios and perform tests to ensure product quality and support development teams.
• Consult Product Owners on the testability of requirements.
• Analyze requirements to define test cases.
• Verify that requirement statements are complete and conform to standards.
• Participate in refinement and identify potential design issues.

We are looking for: Senior Software Test Engineer - Engineer Verification and Validation

You’ll make an impact by:

• Primarily responsible for defining the test scenarios & performing tests and ensuring the product quality by extending support to development teams
• Consults Product Owners in the requirement definition concerning the testability of the requirement.
• Analyzes requirements to define test cases.
• Performs requirements verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete and conforming to standards.
• Participates in refinement and identifies potential technical problems or design flaws.
• Participates in the evolution/implementation of product development processes and tools.
• Analyzes customer feedback.
• Interacts with internal stakeholders such as support representatives, developers, technical writers, project managers, and quality assurance personnel.
• Plans, coordinates, and tracks activities in her / his area of technical responsibility
• Ownership of multiple modules/opportunities of large project and/or single product (in case of some test teams it could be multiple products)
• Performs multiple types of testing (IT, RT, ST, NFR) in responsible area
• Requirements review and verification to ensure completeness and correctness. Reviews test cases of others.

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering
• Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience in Power system Domain
• Strong knowledge of Power System Protection and protection principles.
• Hands-on experience in Protection Testing for Line, Transformer, Busbar, Motor, and Generator protection functions.
• Knowledge of Substation Automation Systems.
• Understanding of communication protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 61850-9-2 Process Bus, DNP3, Modbus, HSR, and PRP.
• Experience in commissioning, troubleshooting, and validation of protection and control systems.
• Basic knowledge of OCC scripting
• Familiarity with software testing methodologies, including test case creation, test set preparation, test planning, and test execution
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Customer focus and ownership mindset.
