Job description

T-Mobile US, Inc. (NASDAQ: TMUS), headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, is America’s supercharged Un-carrier, connecting millions through its strong nationwide network and flagship brands, T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile. Customers benefit from an unmatched combination of value, quality, and exceptional service experience.

TMUS Global Solutions:

TMUS Global Solutionsis a world-class technology powerhouse accelerating the company’s global digital transformation. With a culture built on growth, inclusivity, and global collaboration, the teams here drive innovation at scale, powered by bold thinking.

About the Role:

The Software Engineer will contribute to the design, development, and enhancement of T-Mobile’s internal Workforce Management platform, with a primary focus on timekeeping, advanced scheduling, and forecasting capabilities powered by UKG Pro WFM (formerly UKG Dimensions). This is a full stack role encompassing front-end feature development, backend service engineering, and cloud-native microservices — all in support of scalable, reliable workforce solutions used across the organization.

The engineer will design and maintain Boomi integration flows connecting UKG to enterprise systems, build custom APIs and data pipelines supporting forecasting models and scheduling logic, and deliver intuitive front-end experiences that surface workforce insights to managers and employees. Working closely with Engineers, Product, Architecture, QA, Operations, and Partner teams, they will translate complex workforce management requirements into effective technical solutions that meet customer needs and support reliable, secure, high-availability environments.

This role is AI-enabled: engineers are expected to actively leverage tools such as Claude to accelerate development, improve code quality, automate repetitive workflows, and drive innovation in timekeeping, scheduling, and forecasting capabilities in-house. Success is measured by the ability to deliver quality software solutions, write maintainable code, produce clear documentation, and contribute to systems that support business goals and customer needs.

We pride ourselves on encouraging a culture of innovation, agile ways of working, and transparency in all we do. Join us in embodying the spirit of the Un-carrier and make a tangible impact!

What You’ll Do:
  • Design, build, and maintain Boomi integration flows connecting UKG Dimensions to downstream and upstream enterprise systems — including HCM platforms, payroll, and ERP systems — ensuring reliable, low-latency data exchange and error handling across integration touchpoints.
  • Architect integration solutions using Dell Boomi Atmosphere: Connectors, Mapping Designer, Transformations, Process Routes, and scheduling.
  • Design and configure UKG Reports and Dataviews for operational and analytical use cases; build and optimize Hyper find queries and schedule automated exports.
  • Administer and develop on the UKG Pro WFM Datahub, including BigQuery data extraction pipelines and delivery of data to BI tools downstream.
  • Provide functional expertise on UKG Timekeeping (pay rules, work rules, overtime policies), Accruals configuration, and Advanced Scheduling.
  • Define data mappings and integration requirements by partnering with functional teams, business analysts, and endpoint system owners.
  • Participate in system testing, cutover planning, and coordinate with integration teams during go-live phases; on-site presence required during critical milestones.
  • Troubleshoot complex integration failures, drive root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
  • Engineer and optimize data pipelines that feed forecasting models and scheduling engines, leveraging relational and dimensional data structures.
  • Build and extend RESTful APIs and backend microservices that integrate with the UKG Dimensions platform, enabling real-time data exchange and automation.
  • Design and develop scalable front-end and back-end systems for web applications.
  • Leverage AI tools, including Claude and similar platforms, to accelerate in-house development, automate workflows, generate documentation, and continuously improve the quality of workforce management solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical teams — product managers, architects, engineers, and stakeholders — to deliver effective technical solutions and continuously learn new technologies.
  • Create clear documentation for software code, technical specifications, system designs, and business requirements.
  • Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring maintainability, scalability, and reliability across the stack.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployment activities, contributing to a stable and performant production environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the full stack, from UI rendering to backend service failures, UKG Dimensions integration errors, and Boomi process failures.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology, or related field, plus 3+ years of related work experience; or advanced degree with 1 year; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Hands‑on experience with UKG Pro WFM (formerly UKG Dimensions), including configuration, integration, or custom development.
  • Full stack development proficiency — comfortable working across front‑end frameworks, backend services, and database layers.
  • Proven experience with information architecture components and enterprise solution design.
  • Understanding of data modeling principles in relational and dimensional database structures, particularly as applied to workforce forecasting and scheduling data.
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs and cloud-native microservices.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tooling and cloud deployment environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Excellent problem‑solving abilities to address and resolve technical and strategic challenges.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective collaboration and presentation to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong self‑starter mindset with the ability to take initiative in a fast‑paced, agile environment.
  • Proficiency in productivity applications such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
  • Openness to working in an AI‑enabled environment, actively using tools like Claude to boost productivity, generate solutions, and drive continuous improvement.
Required Technical Skills:
  • 3+ years of integration development experience with Dell Boomi Atmosphere (Atom Cloud, Molecules, Atmosphere API).
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience with UKG Pro Workforce Management or UKG Dimensions (WFD).
  • Strong proficiency in REST API, SOAP/Web Services, XML, JSON, and EDI data formats.
  • Experience designing and building inbound/outbound interfaces between UKG and ERP, HCM, or payroll systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with UKG Data views, Standard Reports, Hyperfind configuration, and export scheduling.
  • Working knowledge of UKG Pro WFM Datahub (BigQuery‑based data warehouse on GCP).
  • SQL proficiency for data validation, mapping verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Scrum) and Git‑based version control.
  • Proficiency in at least one back-end language (Spring Boot, Node.js, Python, Java, Go, or similar).
  • Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and development.
  • Understanding of version control with Git.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Preferred Skills:
  • Dell Boomi Developer Certification strongly preferred; UKG Integration Certification a plus.
  • UKG Timekeeping: Pay rules, work rules, overtime calculations, shift differentials, timecard auditing.
  • UKG Accruals: Accrual profiles, carryover rules, balance adjustments, accrual grants and proration.
  • HCM domain awareness: Employee lifecycle, org structures, labor levels, job and pay grade hierarchies.
