Job summary

Optiv in Bengaluru seeks a proactive Security SOAR Engineer to join a hands-on engineering and consultancy team. You will implement and develop SOAR solutions, author automation scripts in Python, integrate with security tools, and help improve SOC processes.

You\'ll collaborate with customers, vendor partners, and colleagues across the SDLC, with availability during US hours (5:00 PM–2:00 AM IST) and a hybrid on-site work arrangement (3 days a week in the office).

Qualifications

• 3+ years of expert-level proficiency with Python.
• 3+ years of working knowledge of security scripting, SOAP/REST APIs, JSON, HTML/CSS, Javascript, XML.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.

• Design, implement, and maintain efficient, reusable Python code.
• Review, debug, and resolve technical issues through all SDLC stages.
• Integrate SOAR with other security tools and APIs for automated workflows.

Job description

Our engineers are skilled technical and consultative resources expected to be strong in both technical and soft skills. An engineer must be driven and proactive with the ability to problem-solve, communicate, participate in diverse project teams from a technical perspective, and interface effectively with customers, vendor partners, and colleagues.

How you'll make an impact

• Experience of implementation and development of SOAR solutions like Google SecOps, Swimlane, Turbine, Cortex XSOAR, Tines, Exabeam SOAR, Splunk SOAR etc.
• Author, test, and maintain automation scripts/workflows within SOAR platform
• Design, implement, and maintain efficient and reusable Python code
• Review, debug, and resolve technical issues throughout all stages of SDLC
• Integrate SOAR platform with other security tools and APIs to execute automated workflows
• Coordinate with System Administrators, Engineers, and ISSOs to provision service accounts and/or grant required permissions
• Assist with process development and process improvement for Security Operations to include creation/modification of SOPs, Playbooks, and Work instructions
• Measure effectiveness of process improvement and automation efforts via metrics and KPIs

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of expert-level proficiency with Python
• 3+ years of working knowledge of Security related scripting, Python, SOAP/REST APIs, JSON, HTML/CSS, Javascript, XML
• 3+ years of experience with SOAR platforms such as Sentinel SOAR Swimlane, Phantom, Cortex XSOAR, Exabeam SOAR, ThreatConnect SOAR, etc
• Authored SOC SOPs, playbooks, work instructions, and/or other process documents
• Familiarity with Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL) and/or Elastic Domain Specific Language (DSL) and/or regex
• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related field is required
• Excellent English fluency required

This role demands availability during US Working Hours specifically from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM IST

This role is Work from Office (3 days a week).
