Job summary

RL Robotics is seeking a field service engineer to install, commission, and troubleshoot industrial robots at customer sites across Pune district. You will perform preventive and breakdown maintenance, diagnose control-system issues, and support robot programming and teaching.

The role requires strong troubleshooting, good communication, and willingness to travel to customer locations regularly; read electrical/pneumatic drawings and work independently as well as with a team.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Tech/B.E. in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical or Automation Engineering.
• 25 years of experience in robotics, industrial automation, robot maintenance or field service.
• Good understanding of electrical, electronics and control systems.
• Basic knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs/servo drives, sensors, and industrial automation.
• Knowledge of industrial robot programming/teaching will be an advantage.
• Ability to read electrical and pneumatic drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and customer-handling skills.
• Comfortable working at customer sites and travelling frequently.
• Ability to work independently as well as with technical team.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, and troubleshoot industrial robots and automation systems at customer sites.
• Perform preventive and breakdown maintenance of robotic systems at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and control-system issues.
• Troubleshoot robot controllers, servo motors, drives, sensors, PLCs, and related automation equipment.
• Configure and troubleshoot robot programs, I/O, communication, and basic programming issues.
• Support robot teaching, calibration, tool setup, and parameter configuration.
• Conduct regular service and installation visits, ensure timely resolution of customer complaints.
• Prepare service & installation reports, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with the technical teams for issues and resolutions.
• Train customers/operators on basic robot operation, maintenance, and safety procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures while working at customer manufacturing facilities.
• Be willing to frequent travels to customer locations as required.

Preferred candidate profile

• Welding, material handling, pick-and-place, or other robotic applications
• Industrial communication protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, etc.
