Job summary

Zoho in Pune is seeking a hands-on Electrical Test Engineer to design and execute high-voltage and power tests for MV/HV switchgear per IEC standards. You will perform in-house and third-party lab testing and draft reports.

Responsibilities include coordinating calibration, maintaining test report databases, updating knowledge of applicable standards, and traveling 5-15% to outside labs as needed. Strong safety discipline and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related technical discipline.
• 1 to 5 years in MV/HV switchgear product testing per IEC Standards.
• Experience with High Voltage 38kV or above.
• Hands-on experience with lab test equipment; data acquisitions, oscilloscopes, sensors.
• Willingness to travel 5-15% for outside lab tests.
• Familiarity with IEC/IEEE standards preferred.
• Ability to write technical documents (test reports, standards).
• Strong safety discipline and hands-on aptitude.

• Design & execute high-voltage & powertests
  
• Engineer tests both in house and at 3rd partylabs
  
• Execute all testing according to standards andtest request
  
• Provide feedback to requestor as progress ismade
  
• Identify functional problems and suggestsolutions, if necessary; modify test plan to learn the most from testing(working with requestor).
  
• Draft Initial Test Report and send toRequestor for Conclusion and Approval
  
• Maintain Test Report Database
  
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable(ANSI, IEEE, IEC, UL series and other) standards.
  
• Coordinate calibration and maintenance of testequipment with Calibration Department and/or manufacturer
  
• Assist in the design, construction andinstallation of equipment as required to improve testing operations
  
• Develop schedules, coordinate and manageprojects of minor to major size with little to no supervision

Requirements

• Experience: 1 to 5 Years in MV/HV switchgear producttesting as per applicableIECStandards.
  

o BS in Electrical Engineering,Physics, or related technical discipline;

o At least 3 years electricaltest engineering experience on electrical power equipment

o Experience with High Voltage 38kV or above

o Knowledge and hands-onexperience with all laboratory test equipment; data acquisitions,oscilloscopes, analog and digital sensors, etc.

o Familiarity with IEC, IEEE andother standards preferred.

o Willingness to travel toperform tests in outside labs (5-15%)

o Strong desire to learn and, always,adhere to proper safety protocols is required.

o Able to write technicaldocuments, like test reports, engineering standards and technical papers.

Demonstration of mechanical aptitude with strong hands-on ability.
