Job summary

Flex seeks an Engineer, Quality in GBS Pune to support supplier quality activities across the product lifecycle. You will lead qualification, audits, and continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, PFMEA, and related tools, ensuring conformance to ISO/IATF standards and customer requirements.

The role requires 3–5 years in automotive/electronics manufacturing, strong GD&T, and proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint, with good communication and planning skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EEE / ECE / Mech / E&TC with automotive exposure.
• 3–5 years in Automotive/EMS/electronics manufacturing.
• 2–5 years in APQP, PPAP, FMEA and Quality Core Tools.
• Knowledge of PCB operations, Lean and ISO/IATF standards.
• Proficient in GD&T and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong planning, communication and analytical skills.
• Proficient in Excel and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage part and component qualification through PPAP and FAI across the product lifecycle.
• Lead supplier qualification, assess risks, define process parameters, and verify supplier capability.
• Support new product launches by ensuring supplier quality compliance.
• Follow up with suppliers for root cause analysis and corrective actions on quality issues.
• Review and improve supplier manufacturing processes, driving value and efficiency.
• Promote continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, Poka‑Yoke, MSA, and PFMEA techniques.
• Provide concise documentation of inspection results relative to area of responsibility.
• Conduct on-site/virtual audits to verify corrective actions related to supplier quality issues.
• Support the Quality Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance.
• Report on KPIs to adhere to process and prevent non-conformities.

Job Summary

What a typical day looks like:

• Manage part and component qualification through PPAP and FAI across the product lifecycle
• Lead supplier qualification, assess risks, define process parameters, and verify supplier capability against engineering requirements.
• Support new product launches by ensuring supplier quality compliance.
• Follow up with suppliers for root cause analysis and corrective actions on quality issues
• Review and improve supplier manufacturing processes, driving value and efficiency.
• Promote continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, Poka-Yoke, MSA, and PFMEA techniques
• Provide concise, complete, and accurate documentation of inspection results relative to area of responsibility.
• Conduct on-site/virtual audits to verify corrective actions related to supplier quality issues.
• Support the Quality Manager to monitor and report on supplier product quality and performance.
• Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to adhere to process and prevent occurrence of any non-conformity relating to product, process, or system.
• Preparation & Validation of First Article Inspection
• Participate in cross-functional teams in the development of new products or changes related to current products in meeting customer requirements.
• Manage and coordinate supplier Material / Non-Material cost recovery for Supplier Quality issues.
• Ensure readiness for internal and external audits, assisting in quality audits
• Knowledge on ISO/IATF regulations & requirements
• Undertake special projects as required and Provide data-driven decision support wherever needed.
• Leverages data analytics and statistical methods to optimize manufacturing processes, improve product quality, and enhance operational efficiency.
• Conduct benchmarking studies to determine best practices/designs and future trends.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Bachelor’s degree in EEE / ECE / Mech / E&TC
• Minimum 3-5 experience in Automotive Industry /EMS / Electronics Products Manufacturing Industry.
• 2-5 years of experience in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Quality Core Tools.
• Knowledge of PCB operations, Lean manufacturing principles, and ISO/IATF standards.
• Skilled in measurement techniques (GD&T) and interpreting engineering drawings.
• Strong planning and prioritization capabilities.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent analytical and logical reasoning abilities.
• Proficient in soft skills, including Excel and presentation skills.
