Job summary

Fores Elastomech in Chakan, Pune, seeks an experienced Development Engineer with strong NVH and AVP expertise to design rubber-to-metal bonded components, suspension parts, and related castings. You will ensure PPAP/APQP alignment and compliance with IATF 16949.

Responsibilities include leading APQP across all five phases in a cross-functional team, applying AIAG guidelines, PMQC, SPC, and 8D/RCA/CAPA methodologies for robust quality and reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or automobile engineering is required.
• Experience in NVH and AVP design is essential.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and PPAP/APQP processes.
• Experience with rubber-to-metal bonded components and suspension parts.
• MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint proficiency for reporting and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of rubber-to-metal bonded components, suspension parts, and related casting/sheet metal components.
• Ensure compliance with PPAP, APQP, and IATF 16949 standards.
• Lead APQP activities across all five phases within a cross-functional team.
• Apply AIAG guidelines for risk, severity, occurrence, and detection.
• Implement SPC and use 8D/RCA/CAPA tools for root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Development Engineer with strong expertise in NVH and Anti-Vibration Products (AVP). The candidate will be responsible for the design and development of rubber-to-metal bonded components, suspension parts, and related casting/sheet metal components while ensuring compliance with PPAP, APQP, and IATF 16949 standards.

Role & responsibilities:

• Knowledge on NVH requirements on AVP parts (Anit Vibration Products)
• Expertise in Rubber Parts, Sheet Metal parts, Casting parts and plastic parts development processes.
• Having sound knowledge on various types of rubbers and their applications.
• Having sound knowledge on Suspension parts, Damper, Bump Stopper, Top Mounts, Spring seats, RTB & ARB Bush, silent Block Bushes & Multi link Bush and their applications.
• Having sound knowledge of GD&T.
• Having sound knowledge on various rubber part manufacturing processes like (injection, Transfer & compression moulding and their respective parameters)
• Having sound knowledge on various casting manufacturing processes like (HPDC, GDC and LPDC) and sheet metal components.
• Sound knowledge on the metal alloys of Iron Casting, Aluminum casting, Aluminum extrusion, and Sheet metal forming processes.
• Knowledge on Rubber Mould tuning on weight, shape & rubber Balancing
• Knowledge on elastomer test machine function, results extraction, report preparation & correlation activity
• Knowledge of rubber part testing (Static, Dynamic, Durability, Adhesion, Creep, SST, Hysteresis, Push In & Out)

Compliance:

• Lead and support APQP activities across all 5 phases in a Cross Functional Team (CFT) environment.
• Prepare and review:
• PFD (Process Flow Diagram)
• DFMEA & PFMEA
• Control Plans
• PPAP documentation
• Apply AIAG guidelines for defining RPN, Severity, Occurrence, and Detection.
• Implement Statistical Process Control (SPC).
• Use quality tools such as:
• 8D methodology
• Root Cause Analysis
• Corrective & Preventive Actions
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 documentation requirements (preferred).

Preferred candidate profile:

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related field.
• Knowledge of rubber component design is an added advantage.
• Knowledge of rubber tool design is an added advantage.
• Experience handling customer quality concerns related to design.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reporting and presentations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good multitasking and time management abilities.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English.
