Job summary

Expert Bros Rubber is seeking a Quality Engineer/Executive to manage incoming, in-process and final inspection of moulded rubber components. You will ensure compliance with drawings and control plans, maintain quality records, and drive CAPA actions.

The role requires hands-on shop-floor quality experience, familiarity with IATF 16949/ISO 9001, and the ability to coordinate with production and customer teams to prevent defects and ensure product quality.

Qualifications

• Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Polymer/Rubber Technology or related field.
• IATF 16949/ISO 9001 knowledge with hands-on experience.
• Capable of PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA and SPC documentation.

Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in-process and final inspection of moulded rubber components.
• Inspect parts per drawings, specs, control plans and customer requirements.
• Maintain inspection, rejection, PDI, traceability and COA records.
• Prepare CAPA and 8D reports within timelines.
• Support PPAP, PFMEA, process flow diagrams and SPC records.
• Coordinate with Production/Tool Room/Dispatch for quality issues.
• Train operators and inspectors on quality standards and methods.
• Monitor defects and ensure proper disposition of non-conforming material.
• Lead internal and supplier audits and maintain ISO documentation.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce rejections.

Expert Bros Rubber is a manufacturer of precision-moulded rubber components supplied to OEMs and industrial customers. We are looking for a technically competent and responsible Quality Engineer/Executive to manage incoming, in-process and final inspection, quality documentation, customer complaints and IATF 16949-related activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in-process and final inspection of moulded rubber components.
• Inspect rubber parts according to approved drawings, specifications, control plans and customer requirements.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Hardness Tester and other measuring instruments.
• Monitor defects such as flash, short moulding, air traps, surface defects, improper curing, dimensional variation, contamination and hardness variation.
• Approve or reject components based on defined quality standards.
• Maintain inspection reports, rejection reports, PDI reports, traceability records, COA and quality check sheets.
• Ensure proper identification, segregation and disposition of non-conforming material.
• Conduct root-cause analysis using 5-Why, Fishbone and other quality tools.
• Prepare and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Handle customer complaints and prepare 8D reports within the required timeline.
• Prepare and maintain PPAP documents, Control Plans, PFMEA, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA and SPC records.
• Support new-part development, sample inspection and customer approval activities.
• Maintain IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 documentation.
• Participate in internal audits, customer audits and certification audits.
• Monitor process rejection, customer rejection, rework and scrap on a daily basis.
• Prepare rejection analysis, Pareto charts and improvement-action reports.
• Coordinate with Production, Mixing, Tool Room, Dispatch and Marketing teams for quality-related issues.
• Verify calibration status of measuring instruments and maintain calibration records.
• Ensure that no material is dispatched without final quality approval.
• Conduct line inspections and process audits to ensure compliance with approved process parameters.
• Train operators and inspectors on product quality standards, defect identification and inspection methods.
• Maintain sample records, master samples and customer-specific quality documents.
• Drive continuous improvement activities to reduce internal and customer rejection.

Preferred Candidate

• Experience in rubber components, automotive parts, seals, gaskets, O-rings, anti-vibration parts or moulded components will be preferred.
• Candidate should have practical shop-floor quality experience, not only documentation experience.
• Knowledge of rubber testing such as hardness, specific gravity, tensile testing, ageing and MDR/Rheometer testing will be an advantage.
• Experience in handling OEM or automotive customers will be preferred.
• Candidate must be disciplined, detail-oriented and capable of taking independent quality decisions.
• Should be willing to stop or hold production/dispatch when material does not meet approved quality standards.

Qualification

Diploma/B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Polymer, Rubber Technology or a related technical field.
